I take him if we didn't supprise every one and take a stab at Mike Willams.

We're not in a position to draft projects, we need people who can contribute right now. Matt Jones is a beast, I remember the UT-Arkansas OT game in which he looked unstoppable.

But all of his success came under center. I think he'll be good at wideout, but probably not at first. The reason he was so successful at qb is that he was faster than he looked, you don't expect a guy 6'6 to run a 4.3. That said, I don't think you can plug him in at wideout and just expect him to be a playmaker because he's fast. Just looking at how first year wideouts struggle, on average, it'd be a big leap to think that a former qb could come in the NFL and have an impact in his first year. Look at Eric Crouch, or any of the other Nebraska qbs.

Yeah. Matt Jones fits what we are trying to do here on offense. I believe if our highest priority is to draft a WR it should be Jones. He brings 'more' to the table than Mark Clayton, Mike Williams, and Braylon Edwards. And Jones has tremendous value being taken as a late first rounder. Troy Williamson and Mike Williams will be great vale picks if they are not drafted high as they've been projected. :oink:

Matt Jones isnt a project. He is a stud. Dont even compare him to that Nebraska puke Crouch. This kid is faster, stronger, and taller than all the other wideouts projected in the first. He had amazing hands at the senior bowl and the combine. I swear if we took him at nine, I wouldn't be worried about it at all.

He will end up having a Randy Moss like rookie year effect on the team that drafts him. But that won't be in Philly. There is no way he makes it past Pittsburgh.

I think he could be in Dallas, Keyshawn is old and doesn't have it anymore. If thats the case I will puke my guts out.

drew, I'm with you. Not in the fact that I REALLY REALLY want him with our #9 pick, but it's one of those "I'd much rather the Cowboys NOT have him." type of things. I have this shaky feeling that Julius Jones is going to be a good back for them and god forbid they get another young, good WR.

If the Eagles are likely to get Jones, then that's all the more reason for us to take a cornerback in response.

We should take Matt but the conservative minds at redskin part probraly won't see that as an option

If the Eagles do not resolve the "Cory Simon Issue" by draft day, I suspect they will be taking a DT and not a QB-turned-WR high in the draft.

IMHO...

I agree with that. I wouldn't have thought the Eagles would take him, I would have thought Cowboys.
