Champ Bailey votes for the name to change FWIW.

Y! SPORTS (http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/champ-bailey-says-redskins-nickname-tantamount-racial-slur-155416903--nfl.html)

In all fairness he wasnt campaigning or grandstanding for the name change. He was asked his opinion. He said if someone is offended they should change it. He clearly states that he was asked which is the only reason he voiced his opinion (in other words he doesnt really give a crap). Also said he loves the team. Im not going to bash the guy for that at all.

Looks like beast mode wants a new deal:
Marshawn Lynch of Seattle Seahawks wants new deal, will skip minicamp - ESPN (http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/11069927/marshawn-lynch-seattle-seahawks-wants-new-deal-skip-minicamp)

I know it is risky to pay RBs, but he's their best offensive player. I wonder if Seattle has any money left after paying their D.

He's getting 5.5 million this year and scheduled to count 9 million against the cap next year. He's very lucky to be getting that 5.5 mil base in salary this year because he's going to be cut in the off-season next year. They would be stupid to give him another contract with him turning 29 next season. Not when they have to pay Russell Wilson and Okung.

He'd be stupid not to ask for a new contract given that they just won the Super Bowl and he's their best offensive player.

best offensive player is a stretch. you already know who that is...

Lynch is my favorite RB; fun to watch. I like his attitude and he soldem speaks and when he does he says stuff like "Im all about that action, boss". How can you not like this guy?

Lynch is their best offensive player, although in Seattle's case you could argue that their defense is their best offense.

Lynch is their best offensive player, although in Seattle's case you could argue that their defense is their best offense.

This is the year for Lynch to get his contract b/c RB's are becoming more and more interchangeable. The game is changing and, while there will always be the need for a power RB, I just don't think anyone is going to win a SB with a power run game that isn't either a beneficiary of or a diversion from the passing attack. Not saying the run game is going away, just say it's gonna change.

At 29, with two years left on his contract, he either gets a new deal or takes what he can get next year on the open market as a 30 year old back. Just not seeing where he has any leverage.
