That is your opinion, did you sit in on the interviews? skinsnut 01-14-2015, 10:15 AM I work in recruiting...interview people all day long. Anyone can interview well for a few hours...but I will take a track record 9 times out of 10. Energy?....are you kidding me?...give Wade Phillips or whoever "doesn't have energy" a cup of coffee!....i don't care. Raheem Morris has a ton of energy...but his small responsibility has SUCKED...energy does not win games....schemes, play calling and players win games. Here's an interesting point...if Barry is so good....why didn't anyone else interview him?....kinda reminds me of a Zorn hire again...UGH. I hate watching the stupid moves this team makes....after one of the best ever too....another part of my Redskin heart is dying again. I just hope it isn't true....why not interview the successful guys?...what is the rush? Or are they setting up Gruden for complete failure to dump the whole coaching staff?...I have no idea....I hate to say it....Haslett is better (eeeww) JoeRedskin 01-14-2015, 10:17 AM Kenneth Clyburn retweeted lol ... Homer McFanboy @HomerMcFanboy · 12m12 minutes ago Dear Redskins, if the top two candidates you come up with for defensive coordinator are Joe Barry and Raheem Morris, you're doing it wrong Sad just how much that rings true. Ruhskins 01-14-2015, 10:17 AM Yup. I am right there with you. Just like game tape tells you more about players than their combine "interview," a coach's past performance tells you more about them than their interview. With that said, while his work in Detroit was bad (really bad), I am interested in what he has done lately. I am also with the group who think there are better candidates. I hope I am wrong. In Scot we trust. I really wanted Wade Phillips. That said, San Diego is top ten in terms of yards allowed, top ten in yards allowed per game, top five in passing yards allowed, top five in passing yards allowed per game, top 15 in points and points per game allowed. The only area they are outside top 15 is rushing yards/rushing yards per game. MTK 01-14-2015, 10:19 AM I admit not knowing much about the guy until his name first popped up. Detroit was a disaster, not sure how much blame you can attach to anyone there at that time not named Millen. Ruhskins 01-14-2015, 10:19 AM It's more good ole boy network but this is how this organization operates. I would've preferred that they went outside the box and taken Eric Mangini. He's probably too much of a threat to Gruden though. Yes, we're the only team that does this in the NFL. Chico23231 01-14-2015, 10:23 AM Kenneth Clyburn retweeted lol ... Sad just how much that rings true. pretty much. Im pulling for the guy to get it right. Welcome aboard Joe, but remember you serve at the pleasure of the Warpath davy 01-14-2015, 10:29 AM This is some kind of sick joke right? :saywhat: Please tell me this ain't true. :( Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!! JoeRedskin 01-14-2015, 10:29 AM But ... from another perspective: I think it is far too early to tell whether or not this is a good choice. It follows the NFL pattern of hiring people you know, something the Redskins — and every other team — do regularly. What I will say is that sometimes recycling the big names does not work out. It certainly has not worked out for the Skins in the past. Hiring a newer guy, one with plenty of experience, but not enough success to be fat and happy, can work out, too. Report: Redskins to hire Joe Barry as Defensive Coordinator | DC Pro Sports Report (http://dcprosportsreport.com/report-redskins-to-hire-joe-barry-as-defensive-coordinator/) I make no bones about it - I wanted Phillips. As a DC, and IMHO, the guy had the best resume out there - including Ryan. I am disappointed b/c it appears he won't be the DC. skinsnut 01-14-2015, 10:31 AM This just scream out one of 2 things to me. 1. No one of any quality wanted the job. 2. The Redskins continue to value relationships over ability. I wonder...if this is who they thought they would end up hiring, if they would have rethought about firing Haslett. I also wonder if the decision was Gruden's according to what our new GM said at his press conference. |
