Defenses still have to pay attention to beast mode when he is on the field, and the oline and playcalling are superb. What Luck does with the Colts is amazing, what Wilson does with the Seahawks is expected.

Maybe I am misinterpreting what you are saying but I disagree. There are plenty of QBs given the same team that wouldn't be able to do jack with it. Wilson is much better at reading the defense and making passes than he gets credit for on here. Plus he has shown improvement over his three years. I would never say he is as good as Luck, but he is definitely a second tier starter imo.

imo

luck = manning (pure passer)

wilson = brady (pure winner)

rg3 = vick (pure athlete)

That seems pretty accurate OTM, although not good for us.

The block that wasn't heard around the world could have sprung C.J. Anderson against Colts - Mile High Report (http://www.milehighreport.com/2015/1/12/7532569/the-block-that-wasnt-heard-around-the-world-could-have-sprung-c-j)

This is the kind of bullshit I'm talking about. You don't see guys on a Belichick coached team doing stuff like this. I'm dumbfounded by those two idiots.

Hats off the CJ Anderson though. That guy was giving it his all out there.

I would be shocked if Manning doesn't announce his retirement.

I've watched him over the past half of the season - and he has been absolutely dreadful. He has no arm strength left, he has been playing with a myriad of injuries, and last night, he just looked like an old man that had nothing left. There was all the jokes about Brett Favre, but IMO, Brett never sucked the way Peyton has for the last few weeks.

So i wonder ultimately if the Broncos are even kicking the tires on Peyton coming back one more year. Peyton is a competitor, and i have bet against him before and been wrong (returning from neck surgery) - so if Peyton wants to try and bring it one more year, I respect that. Maybe he is just hurt and banged up and an off season of rest and rehab will fix him. It's just shocking to have witnessed one of the greatest of all time suddenly reduced to below average.

As a younger football fan (30 years old), is this always the way it goes with once-great athletes? Do they just show up one day and it's gone, as seemed to be the case with Manning last night??

He was playing with a torn quad ,had his receivers helped him by getting some separation from the Colts DB's it might have been a better game ,Peyton doesn't play defense .

On an unrelated subject, this article had me laughing out loud (and wishing that we'd drafted Kam): Kam Chancellor is a bad man - SBNation.com (http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2015/1/11/7526995/kam-chancellor-seahawks-bad-man-smash-destroy-panthers)

My favorite part: "His feet don't touch the any players because halfway through that jump, he ascended into a higher plane of existence. He's now the divine Kam Chancellor. He ran into that jump the same way a DeLorean by a mad scientist goes back into the past. That's not the same Kam Chancellor who jumped and disrupted the kicker. He went back in time, found that kicker's great grandfather in a soccer field somewhere and destroyed him before coming back to put fear into his great grandson. They don't mention Kam's name in that kicker's household the same way Hogwarts schoolchildren don't say Voldemort."
