Dallas didn't "come from nowhere " to win it though. They've been treading at 8-8. They haven't had any 3 or 4 win seasons like we've had.

Yep...they have a QB. That;s the difference I think. Up until last year at least I don't think they were wildly better than us despite winning 3-4 more game s a year. It came down to having a QB able to actually execute.

Well i think along with a good defense they finally told the QB to stop executing and lets truely try to run the ball 60% of the time. When they put the offense on Tony in the past it was a complete failure.

As is the case for any QB not named Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, Brees, and Luck.

I'd still say we're looking at 4-6 wins. The QB play is just too important and right now we just don't have anyone that's a legit 16 game starter. If one of them steps up and can separate himself from the others then 7-9 wins.

To be clear, if we get average or better than average QB play this year, I think we are a potential 10 win team (with the right breaks, no injuries, etc.). To me, we simply do not have a definitive answer at the most important position. Other than that, if the D jells relatively quickly, we have the weapons to score - and score a lot.

Really, something a little better than "craptacular" play from the defensive backfield this season would be worth at least a three win improvement - regardless of what else happens.

Actually the difference was taking the pressure off Romo and focus on the running game. After being a top 10 team in passing yards, the Cowpukes were 16th last year.

There are always articles on how the schedule is made, and all the factors that go into it. I think that it would be interesting once they come up with the 100 or so schedules that might work, to run this algorithm against those, and rank them. Seems like it would be a good tool to add to the schedule makers toolbox.
