Chico23231 09-12-2015, 10:14 PM I just want us to be competitive tomorrow. We need somethings to go our way to win, but certainly this isn't an unwinnable game by any means. Win turnover battle, win on special teams and run the ball effectively..we get the w.

I think you will be tough. I don;t know on the turnover battle, Our special teams is a big ? and you have very little chance of running the ball. Short stuff to the outside will be the ticket.
Zorny 09-12-2015, 10:35 PM Any predictions on the bizarre, dramatic, unimaginable, never before seen in football events that will occur this season on or off the field? I'm going with Dan Snyder goes full Bruce Jenner and becomes Danielle Snyder, or we win three games in a row...

A little curious as to why you think we cant run the ball. I have not seen Miami in the preseason, so I say that without knowing... But from what it looks like, you have 3 pass rushers and an all around great player in Suh. Its not really a stout D line, its a pass rushing D line.
When you look at Detroit last season, the only place teams seemed to have success running against them was running right at Suh. Oddly enough, he was the weak link in their running defense. The teams that would try to run block him straight up with the guard, he was pretty successful. But when teams would pull the guard and hit him with a tackle or center, he tended to overpursue and leave his gap open.

It may be the best D line in the entire league. I watched all of the preseason for both teams. It probably will be the best front that Miami has ever put on the field in the history of the team. We have weak places on the team. This is not one. Detroit was #1 against the run last year. This line looks better. Our third team D line would start on other teams.

Detroit was number one against the run, but most rushing yards that Detroit gave up was right over Suh. Detroit also seemed to have a bigger, more physical D line than you guys do (again, mainly going off of what I read, have not followed the Dolphins in preseason). It still seems that your D line is built to pass rush, not necessarily to stop the run. Im not saying we are going nuts on the run, but im not convinced you can make a blanket statement about stopping the run with Suh and 3 pass rushers. If you guys get the lead and force teams to pass against you, I see the best D line in the league comment. But thats not saying that teams cant run the ball against it.

Mosley, that lined up next to Suh last year is on our team also. He is a back up.
I'm not sure where you get your facts from. One of Detroit's big physical guys is a backup player here.
It was down to the wire on if he was actually going to make the team.
sdskinsfan2001 09-13-2015, 01:28 AM sdskinsfan2001 reading your signature makes me want to wear a Dolphins Ray Finkle Jersey to the game Sunday..
If I was a Dolphins fan I'd for sure have a Ray Finkle jersey.
sdskinsfan2001 09-13-2015, 02:03 AM Skins...just don't ruin my season week 1. A reasonable loss would not do that, but a sh*t show sure will. Spare me!
My prediction: 28-13 us. Mmmm mmmm Kool-Aid is good!
From reading the last couple weeks, seriously, apparently this years Dolphins team is going undefeated. Not fair that that franchise gets to have both undefeated teams.
30gut 09-13-2015, 09:00 AM Let's run the ball at them and stick with it.
Use Alf and Matt + our new OL and OL guru coach and establish our new identity. Have balanced playcalling and don't put it all on Kirk to carry the offense.
Let's reintroduce Garcon as a fixture in the passing game.
Defense. Dash needs to set the tone. Fly to the ball and thump, wrap, gang tackle. Let's seem so aggression.
DL/pass rush......sick em!
