I think Oakland would be a good fit for him all the way around.

According to this article at SI.com, he's down to 195 pounds. That's what happens when you stop lifting weights for a full year. I just can't see him ever being the same player, he's like 30 or 40 pounds below his playing weight. And it's not like he had any chub, he was all muscle at 230 pounds.

If he can get back into playing shape, he would be a beast and a gem for the right team.
Miami as a team will get over last year the moment he produces a string of 3 to 4 touchdowns games in a row and get them winning.

The situation that Ricky wants is a team where he doesn't have to be the work horse but carry a shared load.

Potiential suitors for him would be the:
Miami Jets
Skins Cowboys
Eagles broncos
Kansas City Titans
Raiders
teams that take him and want to keep him from retireing agian would have to be willing to use a 2 back rotation system similar to the steelers. The sutior would also likely already have a good starting running back because it will take a while for the rust multiplied by the drug use to ware off Ricky.

Why not the Raiders? They don't have enough money, although people believe they fit his profile, they have Lamont Jordan who jus left a 2 back system and hated it... The whole woodson thing has screwed up their cap which they didn't anticipate.

Why the skins: Gibbs uses many backs and he would be the power back that Gibbs covets. He's a Dan Snyder guy and his talent would be appealing to the owner. When and if he becomes fully recovered the skins would have handsdown the best backfeild in NFL history. Drawbacks obvious character issues, possible rust issues that gibbs wants to stay away from.

Me i'd take him. Put him on the practice squad until he was back to NFL shape and upgrade him to run with portis. He has also been practicing yoga, which has probrably added higher indurance and dexterity. His value to me as a compliment to portis outweighs for me his obvious character issues. If anyone he wouldn't be better than betts officialy need to be slapped!

Ricky is of no use to anyone if he's just going to be suspended all the time.......and I think it's a little too optomistic to think that he'll just kick the habit at the drop of a hat. Let's not forget, one more strike and he's got himself a full year suspension under the NFL's drug policy (I believe, please correct me if I'm wrong).

He's worth it if you give him little guaranteed money and lots of incentives. He's a talented back, someone will try to get him, but they won't give up much to get him.

He will be a Oakland Radier if he plays anywhere. The guy has premire RB ablility, I could see Oakland parting ways with a second round pick to get him.

I know Gibbs would never go for it. But if you could get him for really cheap I would take a look at it.
The Man can run. There is no doubt about that. The real qestion is can he put the pipe down for the next 5 yrs? :Smoker:

Do the Raiders need a running back.........sounds like an Al Davis move to work out a trade with Miami to land Ricky.........too much bad blood between the players and Ricky to keep him on the Dolphins............Wouldn't ole Norv luv that....Randy Moss and Ricky what a pair......if this happens Norv should purchase tons of Malox he'll need it. :laughing-
