They should have traded Gardner for a #4 two months ago when teams were interested. However, they overestimated his value thinking they could get a #3 for him and now the teams who were interested signed other WR's. The skins are going to be forced to cut him now. The handling of the Garder trade was probably the Redskins biggest mistake of the offseason IMO...Did any teams make us an offer for Gardner? I thought he was hurting the deals by asking for a new contract or something like that.

yup basicly first down, he still thinks he deserves first round money. Plus teams expect us to cut him, so why give up something for a guy you can get in june.

Rather than use a draft pick on a player who has not - you know - actually played football in recent years, I think I'd be much more interested in scouring the free agent lists and NFL Europe rosters to see if there isn't a player there that I might develop into a productive WR.
If you are going to get caught up in how athletic a player seems to be when someone writes something about him and then project that to mean that this is a ligitimate prospect, maybe you want the Skins to sign Brock Lesnar to play DE. Remnember that's what Lesnar wants to do. And he is certainly big and athletic and...
I prefer that they bring in "football players" to try ot fill out their "football roster".

Well, now that you mention it, I'd sure love to sign all the World's Strongest Men.
I bet they'd be GREAT football players.:Smoker:

first off, brock lesnar was trying for DT, and second... roscoe was named #1 recruit in the year of 2001 by several major columnist (showing that he knows how to play) third ... he's 6'3" 214 ...nuff said

I just threw out the idea for discussion, a 4th or 5th rounder may be worth it for someone with huge upside potential. Plus, we'd sign him for cheap. Given our luck with draft picks in later rounds, I really don't think its much of a risk.

Actually, in the brief time Lesnar was in the Vikes camp, they had him playing DE. Doesn't matter, he didn't impress them enough to make it to the practice squad.
The fact that some columnists say this guy was a great recruit some years ago is hardly something worth an NFL team's concern. Remember Ron Paulus? He was touted as being a QB who would win TWO Heisman's. Last I checked he won ZERO and was a clipboard holder in the NFL for a year or two and is now hardly a "hot commodity". In fact, I think he was not even a starter in his senior year in college; so much for #1 recruits...
This guy is 6' 3" tall and weighs 214 lbs. I guess I'm supposed to be impressed by that but iI'm not. If that's what floats your boat, you can probably pick up Kwame Brown for a song and he's 6'11" and weighs 270.

I don't know squat about the guy so I'm not saying anything other than workout stats and height aren't enough to convince me to give up a draft pick (we already lack our 1st and 4th next year). I defer to the coaching staff. I can guarantee you they're exploring all available WRs.
