Im kinda confused.
We play all of the AFC North and NFC North plus the div winners of the NFC South and NFC West?

nevermind.

pretty simple, even for a simpleton.
Yeah, you know your opponents for next year as soon as the regular season ends. We've known who we were playing for months, now we just know when.

since we ended up in the top 2 of the NFC east, i thought we played the top 2 teams of a specific NFC division .. not play the no. 1 team of the 2 NFC divisions (who we dont play 4 against obviously).
did they do away with that?

In the late 90's.
1995-1998 NFL scheduling formula[edit]
When the divisions were balanced between 1995 and 1998, each team would play a home and away series against their divisional rivals (8 games), two teams from each of the other divisions within the conference (two having finished the same place, and two others determined by where they placed in the standings), and four teams from a division in the other conference by the aforementioned rotary basis (where the team placed in the standings determines which team in the interconference division they will not play, and that team would have the "polar opposite" place.
From '78- '95, the formula was similar but slightly different.

The way I remembered it, 1st & 4th's played each other and 2nd & 3rd's played each other.

It's a fucking trap schedule
I think the schedule is pretty damn brutal. Going to go on record and say we'll be lucky to make it to the playoffs.

I totally agree with you. If we get off to a slow start, it's going be brutal.

Week 12 through week 16 is a killer stretch...outside of that, I think it's pretty average.
Meeting cincy on a neutral field as an away game is good. Even though it's neutral, we keep our home game.
Teams like Vikings and packers...I don't worry about them as much especially at home. Packers were terrible last year and Vikings...ap is a year older and bridgewater hasn't shown the ability to get the ball down the field.
Pittsburgh at home first game is ideal...I rather get them right off the bat before they get that offense in gear mid season.
That bye week is perfect.

The Packers beat the crap out of us at Fedex in our playoff game.
