griff is done, this shows everyone that Mike and Kyle were geniuses in his first season! He can't pass to save his life, and now that he isn't a threat running hes just bad.

Do you think his NFL career is over if he is benched / injured bad in Cleveland? Dude's attitude complex would never allow him to take a backup job. Very possible we are watching the last football of his career right now

He might take a backup job for the money but who would want him?

The simple fact is that he is not an NFL football player. He is so awkward on the field that he looks out of place and playing the game doesn't come naturally to him. Worst of all, he still doesn't know how to protect himself on the field.

RGIII is a man who was a great athlete until his elite speed was taken from him. I think he could have been an Olympic decathlete before he suffered his severe leg injuries. He was not designed to be an NFL football player.

I hope his career ends so people around here stop obsessing over him.

His STARTING career will likely be over soon.

Hell, even Vick played FOREVER after scandal and just straight sucking.

We'll get to see RG3 for way longer than we ever wanted.

This guy runs full speed INTO a defender. This is what hurt him. Idiot still hasn't learned.

what goes thru his head? "let me truck this guy real quick before i get out of bounds."

I can see him sticking around as a backup if need be, what else is he going to do that pays this well?

I think we might want to pump the brakes on predicting his next move anyway, he says he's fine and will play next week.

This.

I'm not sure he sticks around as a back-up. Back-ups need to come in and make an offense work based on a game plan built around another guy. I suggest that most NFL back-ups have to be able to competently run a standard drop-back passing offense and are mostly plug-and-play guys. They can stand in the pocket, run the play called, and get the ball out. Generally, they aren't starters because they lack one of the essentials for starting QB's - either their arm isn't strong enough, they aren't accurate enough, or they are completely immobile. When your back-up is playing, you are not adding wrinkles; you are going more basic.

RGIII just doesn't have the make-up of an NFL back-up. He is not and will never be a drop back passer. For whatever reason, he cannot get the ball out on time or with anticipation. He has plenty of arm, starter quality accuracy, and is still plenty mobile. However, you can't just plug him into a standard NFL offense and expect it to be run efficiently.

He may stick around for a couple years just b/c of his physical talent, but I just don't see him pulling a Jason Campbell and becoming a journeyman QB - bouncing around the league, possibly starting for a couple teams but generally being a solid back-up. He just doesn't have the right skill set.

He's a crash test dummy playing QB in the NFL.

It's only one week. I'd assume we'll see McCown in there to just steady things a bit just so they'll have a functional NFL offense. Eventually maybe towards the end of the year, when Cleveland hasn't won a game, they'll put in the rookie from USC. Griffin will be out of the league next year, or backing someone up in Saskatchewan.
