I know TW is one of the best at LT, but I do believe that putting him at LG and moving TY out to LT might make our line stronger. The way Trent can run could you imagine him pulling on sweeps? Maybe we could actually run some trap plays as well.

You just don't take arguably the best LT in football and move him to guard. What you do is find a better left guard in free agency or draft. I think Lavaou is cut after the draft.

Only problem is if TY plays well at LT (which he will) then you have to pay him as a LT.

Best player on the team!
Moving him would be silly, you don't pay that much for a guard.

I doubt they'd do it and it's just a thought. I was just listening to Gruden on Redskins Nation and he actually said that there wasn't really too big a drop off between Trent and Ty.

TW is one of those situations that I'm glad it worked out for us. Back when he was coming out of college, the top tackles were him and R. Okung. Okung has been plagued by injuries and has bounced around teams. Aside from the suspensions, TW has been amazing for us.

We've had some hella good LTs through the years from Jacoby to Lachey to Samuels... TW just may be the best of them all.

Yeah, left tackle seems to be a position that we have always been able to have a solid guy at. It's the rest of the line that we have struggled in over the past several years, but I think our offensive line is really starting to gel and become pretty solid.

With a the exception of a couple of years we have had amazing continuity at LT:

1981-87 Joe Jacoby
1988-95 Jim Lachey
2000-09 Chris Samuels
2010- Present Trent

Essentially, four left tackles over ~ 37 years. All with Pro-Bowls and All-Pro years on their resumes. Not too shabby.

... and, yes, no disrespect to the others, but Silverback is the best of the four. He has Jacoby's nasty streak, Samuels technical ability and Lachey's mobility and is just the biggest and meanest of the bunch.
