I'll say this, a lot of great coaches share their fate with a great QB, but certainly not all. Cousins has this year to prove it to JG that he is that guy for him. If he does, I think JG moves mountains to keep him, if not, I think JG lets him walk and starts over with a draft pick or maybe a stopgap until a draft pick. I do think Gruden survives KC if he leaves after this year. My opinion in part comes from what Jon Gruden was saying about Cousins before and during the game. Essentially that he is good but not great ... yet. That he CAN be great, but will he? I guarantee that the two have talked about the most important player on the team, and I'm sure Jon is well aware of his feelings about him. Which goes back to why Jay is the man and the best HC we've had in decades. He's a good talent evaluator and you either perform or you don't play for him. Would you want the Redskins to, if their job were open? For me the answer to both is a big yes. irish 10-05-2017, 06:45 AM There’s a lot more to like about Jay as a HC than not. Hope we’re smart and keep him around for a lot longer. Totally agree. Consistency is what's needed now that the organization seems to be turning the corner. Good way to sum it up Bigreds77 10-05-2017, 04:20 PM I actually like jay but he needs to learn when and when not to call timeouts. mooby 10-05-2017, 04:22 PM I actually like jay but he needs to learn when and when not to call timeouts. I didn't have a problem with it during the game but in hindsight it did bite us in the ass. I guess his general rule was use the first at 1 min, the 2nd at 30 sec, and the 3rd at the end if necessary. Maybe he should have let the clock run down to 45 or 30 before he used the first.
