I do like the image of Johnathan Allen and Matt Ionnadis next to each other in a 4-3 set, but I think we will end up as a quote unquote 3-4 base team. I want to see Ryan Anderson as an ILB, not an outside one
Also both of our free agent Dlineman disappointments McClain and McGee both came from a 4-3 alignment. Maybe their play improves as well?

I honestly think they both just suck. No idea what they saw in those two

Well when I saw we gave 25 million to McGee...someone Id never heard of...I was pretty pissed. Maybe he can pick it up.
Meanwhile, calais campbell is probably gonna be defensive player of the year.

For similar money? Ugh.

lol no not even close. McClain and McGee combined cost the same as Campbell.
I still would rather have Campbell.

Anderson would be a much better fit at ilb, he can't rush at all against an NFL tackle.

Well I guess technically he would still be called an outside LB in a 4-3, you wouldn't line him up as your Mike. But it's a completely different position than an OLB in a 3-4.
To me that's also an advantage of the 4-3: you have 3 LBs behind the line of scrimmage.
In the 3-4 we only have 2.
And when we say we already play most of our snaps in a 4-3, it's false: we play a lot of snaps in a 4-2/nickel. Even when we have 4 guys in a 3 points stand, we only have 2 LBs behind that.
Having, for say, Zach Brown (WLB), Mason Foster (MLB) and Ryan Anderson (SLB) behind Galette(/Smith), Ioannidis, Allen and Kerrigan would make us a lot stronger against the run, wouldn't it ?

Some of you guys are going to love this:
http://cdn.stationcaster.com/stations/wtem/media/mp3/12_06_17_Cooley___Kevin_HR_2-1512573827.mp3
In his "Must do list" for the upcoming season, Cooley says he wants the Skins to transition to a 4-3 D because our personnel is more suited for it:
-Kerrigan and Galette are better with their hands in the dirt (and Kerrigan can't cover).
-He wants Zach Brown our WLB and Ryan Anderson to be our SLB with Foster (or Compton) at MLB.
-He doesn't like to have different guys for the 4-2 nickel and for the few snap you play as a 3-4.
-We don't have a true NT and it's not easy to find.
Amen Cooley. The 3-4 has sucked here for many reasons. I totally lost it when the game was on the line against the Saints and Kerrigan is out in space trying to cover. That shit has been going on for years. Pettibone would have never asked one of his pass rushers to cover. It's so stupid on so many levels and piss poor coaching.
If I were Snyder there are two things I would tell Jay he needs to do. Get a fullback and 86 the 3-4. Do those two things and you can keep your damn job. And please don't tell me fullbacks are extinct. Many teams still use them, Saints, Pats and Packers are some and all of them can run the ball when healthy.
