The penalty is that the player has to go through waivers. It reminds me of the faxes that didn't make the 4oclock deadline. Terrible for GB but they should have known. That said, I am positive GB will find a second injury that was aggravated in the game forcing AR to IR for a second separate injury.
Listening to Andrew Brandt this morning he basically said teams do this all the time to different extents.
Teams have to submit paperwork to the league office as part of the IR process including medicals.
Sure there are ways around everything but after hearing his take I don’t think the Packers did anything truly egregious or something that every team hasn’t done in the past.

Bucs are a hot mess, big disappointment this year
Yeah well there is alot of that going around this year. Question on GB, could Rodgers choose not to sign back with GB ,I mean a lot of teams would kill for him and he could get a raise, is that possible ?

I don't think Baker really had the option to stay. I think the team didn't make him a realistic offer. I can't find a link but remember this being discussed on Cooley's radio show.

I heard that too and while I don't think it was egregious, I also doubt many teams would put their star qb at the risk of going through waivers either. Could you imagine the uproar if KC walked because Allen messed that up.
