P Rich...not a good first year under a new contract
The knock with him in Seattle certainly was trouble staying healthy. Last year was his one truly healthy year and he did well.
But yeah, we probably should have anticipated him struggling to stay healthy. Seems to be the rule, not the exception.

Yeah....I just got through listening to Gruden's press conference....the first thing he said was Lavou, Sherff, and P. Richardson are all out for the season....
Same. And he looked completely defeated as he stood up there and spoke. His demeanor came across resigned to a repeat of last year.

When was the last time we had such a devastating weekend? Three key guys done for the year and we get blown out?
Who pissed off the football gods this year?

that's on them....these stupid ass fuckfaces...fuck these idiots.
They act like this is just bad luck...
I think having Trent get a random thumb injury and Scherff getting injured off a cheap shot that wasn't even flagged, is bad luck.
Do you think every team has a back up Pro Bowl Tackle and Guard? You can blast the team for betting their luck with Luvao, but this is just ridiculous IMO.

Probably the same people that were whining because we kept having ugly wins.

When Kouandjio went down, who replaced him?
Also Gruden gambled carrying 8 o-linemen, and that gamble lost big. This is on Gruden for not having adequate backups.

I was whining because it's 2018, in an offensive tilted league when your D that carries the squad can't do their jobs you have no shot in hell of winning games. We've seen it 3 times this year.

Agree on everything you said.

You think backups can overcome losing both Trent and Scherff?

This is what we started the year with:
LT Trent Williams
LG Shawn Lauvao
C Chase Roullier
RG Brandon Scherff
RT Morgan Moses
Backups:
Swing tackle Ty Nsekhe
backup to the backup Geron Christian (too young to hold his own, needs time)
Interior lineman Tony Bergstrom
C Casey Dunn (rookie undrafted free agent who probably needs a year + before he ever sees the field)
So in reality, after Kouandjio and Catalina (aka garbage) went down, you were relying on Bergstorm to backup everybody on the interior o-line.
Now we have to rely on someone who should never see the field to play significant minutes in Scherff's spot, assuming Bergstrom stays at LG.
God forbid we lose Roullier and we have to play Dunn. And our new o-line reserves will be street free agents who will have to learn the system.
Smith has looked bad behind our entire starting o-line, we're about to find out how much worse it can get.
