Alex will be missed no matter what people say, yeah he didn't light it up for us but he was a stand up guy and a leader. This is a big blow to the organization if he can't come back, which it sounds like he won't. U hate to go right to football but now this team 100% needs to draft a QB and maybe even 2 again.

Zach Miller from Chicago had the same type of infection happen I believe, and they thought he would lose his leg. Luckily he is better now but obv. he can't play on it.

Terrible man, just terrible. Infections are a MFer. Vèry scary.

Reports of @Redskins Alex Smith dealing w infection of ankle.can be very serious. Effecting bone healing & soft tissue. IV antibiotics, multiple surgical clean outs, Hardware exchanges, all considerations in infection. In the worst of scenarios, some have had amputations.
