Schneed10 04-25-2019, 02:15 PM Ever notice how the national media - the ones aligned with ESPN and the NFL Network - are the ones breaking the most bombastic rumors on Twitter? They have us calling about moving up in the draft, they have us fixated on certain quarterbacks, etc.
But the local guys - JP Finlay in particular - keeps saying they're likely to stick at 15 and take an edge rusher unless a QB falls to them.
Hmm... I wonder why the national outlets who SHOW THE DRAFT ON TV would want to see interest piqued? Can't have anything to do with ratings, can it?
Lying season doesn't just apply to coaches and GMs. Consider the sources for all convenient leaks that just so happen to come out during draft week.

Good point.
I can see them moving up a couple, but not into the top 5. My money is on the either staying put or moving back and ending up with Jones.
Ruhskins 04-25-2019, 02:28 PM I’d punt on QB this year. Load up everywhere else. This QB class outside of Murray is mediocre at best.

Same here. I think all the QB talk is just smoke and mirrors to see if AZ would lower their price for Rosen. I would prefer for them to stay at 15 and take a stud EDGE guy or trade back a bit and get extra picks to get more help in other areas.
Chico23231 04-25-2019, 02:34 PM Cooley on Sheenhan Podcast today is fucking killing Haskins as a terrible QB and goes after OSU excuse for weak Pro-style scheme.
Haskins benefited greatly as OSU has 3 NFL WR and a stout Oline.
FYI Parris Campbell is a monster.

Good point, I thought the same thing when I looked at NFL.com earlier and saw, "Sweat heart condition may have been misdiagnosed at combine."...
There's no definitive call being made, it's being released the day of the draft..
To me, it's either a late attempt from his agent to hopefully make sure Sweat's condition doesn't cause him to fall too far OR it's like you said, big-box media drumming up interest.

I was just about to post something along these lines, the national peeps can fuck right off, all they’re doing right now is creating drama. Stay with the local beat guys, they know what’s really up.

There is no way we can do that. We have to draft someone. The Redskins need to get back to drafting a QB just about every year, like in the old days.
I’m fine with a later round developmental guy, I just wouldn’t waste a day 1 or 2 pick on a guy that’s going to sit all year.

Agreed, if we go QB before round 4, they better start.
skinsfan69 04-25-2019, 03:13 PM I listened to Cooley. I have to say I totally disagree with him about Haskins. You just don't have that kind of production against good competition and not be a baller. I wanted to ask Cooley did he watch the Michigan game? Northwestern or Washington? If so then how in the world did he come to his conclusion? It makes no sense. The stuff about his footwork also makes no sense. The guy works the pocket and actually steps up in the pocket. He also rolls out to both sides.
IDK if we should draft Haskins at 15. But I just don't see what Cooley is seeing. I see a guy in Haskins who would be the first pick in the draft if he stayed another year.

And even with some local guys, like Chris Russell or Grant Paulsen, like to create drama as well.
To me, if a piece of news that I hear doesn't come from JP Findlay, John Keim, or Craig Hoffman, I'm going to take it with a grain of salt.
