Gettlemen would be better off just owning the pick and saying yeah he was our guy all the way and he was worth the #6 pick to us. Stop with the BS of blaming other teams.

And you should pick because of what you want your team to achieve, not based on fear of what someone else will do. You think Bellichick picks players based on what he thinks the Bills, Jets or Dolphins will do? Yeah, me neither. What nonsense. I hope that's how Gettleman is making picks -- the Gnats will be doomed for a while.

I didn't even realize that was Gettlemen's reasoning behind the draft pick? Picking out of fear another team was going to make that pick. Whatev's.... I think we got the QB with the higher ceiling.

everyone agrees Haskins' ceiling is higher. But his floor is also lower. He's boom or bust. Daniel Jones has a lower ceiling, but his floor is still high-end backup / low-end starter.

My personal opinion to answer the question asked...

Yes, if Haskins had not fallen into the Redskins lap, then the Redskins would have taken Daniel Jones, and I would have be totally fine with that.

I think the good thing is, we don't necessarily need to start Haskins this year. In fact, I believe if the 'skins are even decent with Keenum starting, then he might sit next year as well (although unlikely.) Maybe work him in for a play here and there, but as long as Snyder is willing to give Gruden a longer leash, we don't have to rush him into anything - which will give him every chance to succeed.

Then again, Gruden might be announcing he's the starting QB by training camp.

If Haskins was gone and Jones was there at 15, we most likely would have traded back. Gettleman panicked and screwed up. He wouldn't have had to deal with this, had he drafted Sam Darnold last year. But oh well.

Washington has said repeatedly that Haskins was their guy, but who truly believes this? Who thinks Washington would have taken Jones at 15 if he was there?

Yes , it's been well known for a while the Allen and Snyder wanted Haskins and the other in the FO and Gruden wanted Jones , as did Denver.
