Lets not forget the rookie Holcomb who had 100 tackles last yr in college
Haven't forgotten about him, I'd love to see them two as a nice combo

Also, the Redskins could use the cap savings to possibly re-do tackle Trent Williams' contract. After releasing Foster, they'll have approximately $12 million cap space. Williams will likely miss the start of training camp as he remains upset over some of his medical care. It's uncertain if a new deal would appease him, however. He has two years remaining on his current contract.
The Redskins also want to extend guard Brandon Scherff, who is entering the final year of his contract. The sides started talking in January.
The moves saves 4 million? Pretty good...I’m betting this is more about what Keim says about our Oline

Also wouldn't surprise me to see Ryan Anderson moved inside as wellNo chance.
Only way he plays inside is at strong side LB in a 4-3.
He lacks the speed and skill set to play ILB in a 3-4.

Solid tackler but lacks speed and is horrible in coverage.. It's not a huge loss IMO.
Career grade of 59.8.
Meh
We disagree on that.
I think he has highly underrated coverage abilities. He's a smart player who made some nice plays in zone coverage.
He had some bad games and is not athletic, but on many games his smartness and toughness made up for it IMO.
Now, maybe last year's instagram turmoil wasn't 100% cleared up, and if the move ends up helping solving the TW and/or the BS situation, I'm fine with it.

PFT doesn't like this organisation, but I truly am curious as to what precisely led to his releasing happening now. If it was something they saw during OTAs (ie SDH showing improvement, Bostic and Holcomb looking great), it could've been done several weeks ago...
IMO it's either internal tensions, or a legit cap saving move to solve the TW/BS situations.

Thank god they moved on from him. He was cut by Tampa years ago. When was the last time Tampa fielded a good defense? Yet he was on this roster for years which tells you something about the Redskins. Foster is slow, un athletic and can't run with any NFL TE or RB. All he really could do was call the defenses.

The timing of the release was a fuck you move by the team for last years tweets, that’s my guess.
