I think he was socially awkward around women, he was like 20 when he hooked up with his wife who was 16 at the time and proposed to her when she was still under age and in High School. The age of consent in California is 18. What rich famous 20 year old dude hooks up with a High School girl? That is kind of strange.

Nobody has forgotten about it, it’s all part of his legacy. But typically when someone dies you want to remember the good over the bad.

Idk why we can't acknowledge it. On one hand, after reading up on it (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kobe_Bryant_sexual_assault_case) I lean towards believing the girl. The denial at first, then changing his story to say it was consensual, combined with the vaginal trauma makes me believe he tried to use his status to get laid and didn't back down when she didn't want to.

On the other hand, he turned an entire generation of kids worldwide into basketball fans, and inspired people with his work ethic and success. I can respect his accomplishments while still conceding he did one of the most despicable things you can do as a person.

The hero worship is still a little overboard though.

Exactly.

I am sad he passed away at a young age but was I balling my eyes out; no. We really really don't know these people other then what we see on TV of them.

Last year i sat in as a juror on a rape case, rape is a horrible act that creates mountains of shock waves through out the victims lives.

Maybe karma caught up to him on that helicopter ride.

Why? What if it was your daughter or wife he raped?

A little over the top to say he deserved to die.

I've read several articles since Sunday that touched on the rape allegation... so this idea that nobody is talking about it is false.
