Source: Talks are heating up between #Eagles and #Texans on a Deshaun Watson trade. Still some hurdles to get over. But both sides attempting to come to an agreement.

If this happens it would SUCK for the NFCE, He's a top 10 QB easily and in his prime

No they are not, according to PFT. Texans' price is too high and no team would be stupid to pay it with such a huge legal cloud behind him.

Top 5 I'd say, and he's just getting started.

Nah, let the Eagles pay that price. Watson would go a long way for them - if he can stay on the field. But I'd bet the price they pay would be too much.

I checked out the Eagles cap situation. They have 16m room right now. Only 3 contracts above 10M, Cox by far the most at 23M cap hit.

but 2022 gets weird for them.

-Slay goes from 6.6M in '21 to 22M in '22
- Hargrave goes from 5.7m in '21 to 17.8M in '22
- Brooks goes from 7 to 19
- L Johnson 11 to 15.7

^^ and these arent deals they can easily get out of, lots of dead/guar money tied to them so they cant just cut them and be free

Ive learned to never think a team will be in future cap hell, especially after watching the Saints make cap this offseason, but it doesnt look good for Eagles in 2022 cap wise.

Plays a contact sport but thinks surrounding himself in plexiglass in the QB room is the answer.

FFS

I think Thom Loverro said it best when he tweeted this:

if a doctor showed up at the park, opened his trunk and told them I’ve got syringes filled with iguana piss that will make you faster and stronger and it’s undetectable, there would be a line through the parking lot
