We definitely blew it with Cousins, but he didn't want to stay. Nobody wants to be here for long. We're a reverse car wash.

He wanted to leave because Dan was all over RG3's dick even after KC was balling in his absence. skinsfan69 10-18-2021, 03:05 PM I don't understand how a QB that has done marginally well in a much better run organization, and a team with a hell of a lot more talent, could have done better in our train wreck of an organization. Cousins is not good enough of a QB to have overcome the dysfunction of this organization, which is what you imply by saying that it was the worst mistake to let him walk. There are very few QBs that could have changed our team's situation over the past 3 years, and Kirk Cousins is not one of them (hell he hasn't even changed Minnesota's situation). I never said he was good enough to overcome our organization. But the team was better with him vs w/out and those are facts. The WL record is worse with out him. The offensive production is worse w/out him. Again those are facts. The issue in Minnesota is the their crappy defense. It is not Cousins. Yeah he throws out a few stinkers like he always does, but over the length of a full season he is a more than capable NFL starter. Personal feelings aside you have to admit that much. skinsfan69 10-18-2021, 03:11 PM We definitely blew it with Cousins, but he didn't want to stay. Nobody wants to be here for long. We're a reverse car wash. This is not true. Kirk wanted to be a free agent. He wanted to test the market. Had the front office showed him respect that he wanted he would have stayed. Instead they disrespected him multiple times. For what it's worth I heard his wife did not want to leave DC. She loved it here. skinsfan69 10-18-2021, 03:12 PM He wanted to leave because Dan was all over RG3's dick even after KC was balling in his absence. It is all water under the bridge now but Dan made numerous mistakes when it came to RG3 and Cousins. Then he screwed up again and drafted Haskins when no one in his building wanted him. What an idiot. Chico23231 10-18-2021, 03:16 PM This is not true. Kirk wanted to be a free agent. He wanted to test the market. She loved it here. Naw cousins team counter Bruce with 17 mill per and Bruce turned it down. There was two fuck ups…not getting a relatively decent deal at 17 mill per year for 4-5 years but also then franchising him and then not trading him for at least one 1st and another early draft pick. He wanted to test the market because Allen blew it by lowballing him twice. It's very likely he wasn't staying even if we paid him even more than Minnesota gave him. SunnySide 10-18-2021, 03:41 PM maybe im being cynical or just got my panties in a bunch ... but most of yall didnt want Cousins when he was here. I see what you are saying, I just don't have any faith in this organization or the previous and current coaching regimes to think that things would have been better. I mean, probably a slight improvement, but not by much. mooby 10-18-2021, 05:25 PM maybe im being cynical or just got my panties in a bunch ... but most of yall didnt want Cousins when he was here. There was definitely some. Felt like a "if we can't have an elite qb why settle for an above-average one?" dilemma. It has literally been nothing but downhill in regards to qb play since he left. And here we are yet again without our long term starter of the future settled. |
