Stafford did that to us last year. Three plays and 34 yards in 16 seconds for the go ahead FG as time expired.

You're never out of it with a good QB.

Exactly why I'd squib it. Take as much time off the clock as possible. They hadn't really stopped Mahomes all day, why expect to be able to do it when it really counted.

Rams D is no joke , I wouldn't give the trophy away just yet.

Who's giving anything away? I'm just saying I'd favour them. And who's guaranteeing the Rams beat the 9ers anyway?

I'm fine with the OT rules as they are now. It used to be a FG could win it, now you need a TD. Step up and play some D.Agreed. People saying it's sad to see this game getting decided by a coin toss forget they played a full drive of 11 on 11 football after that... The rules make perfect sense as they are. You have 60 minutes to win the game, after that yeah there's an element of sudden death.

I won't disagree per se, but it's worth considering that with 2 good offenses and 2 poor defense's (arguably not the case with this game), then it is very much down to the coin toss. Had the Bills won the toss, it wouldn't be at all surprising to have seen them march down the field the same way. I'm not arguing for a rule change, but I can see the argument for 1 possession each.

I think the College rules are the best option, and I would be ok with a change to something similar (or the exact same) in the near future. While there is still a coin toss, each team gets to possess the ball - no matter what. Seems odd to have such a spectacular back and forth game, especially down the stretch, and then in the final period (OT) have the possibility of only one team possessing the ball. Let them go toe to toe for a couple more possessions, culminating with alternating two-point conversion attempts if it goes to the third OT period.

And do away with ties in the regular season...that's just dumb.

Yeah I'm not saying the argument is completely absurd, and the NCAA/International rules make sense too (btw, putting this overtime issue aside, just overall, I think the NCAA/IFAF rules make way more sense than the NFL ones).
I just get worked up by this "decided by the coin toss" argument. Like, they did play the drive.

Also, every body is getting this OT rules playoffs stats than 10 out of 11 coin toss winners won the game since the rule change... but forget the regular season stats (https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1485674487425155076?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5 Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1485674487425155076%7Ctwgr% 5E%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.si.com%2Fnfl%2F2022%2F01 %2F24%2Fnfl-overtime-rules-playoff-stats-coin-toss-chiefs-bills) which are 86-67-10 for the coin toss winner, only a 52.8 win percentage...

I hate the coin toss won the game BS. Like defense doesn't matter. Or boo hoo it's not fair. You know what else isn't fair? Life. Get used to it.

Stop them on defense with 13 seconds left.

I got no problem with the overtime rule.

The coin toss did not determine the winner/loser.

That doesn't mean there's not a better way to do it though.
