After the presser, Terry and EB met to talk about expectations. It was frigging amazing. They’re both totally stoked to work together. It’s on the team’s Instagram (which I am generally never on but it was worth it).

I’m waiting for the team to be sold. And then I’ll guzzle it like my life depends on it.

Was thinking the same thing. Except downstairs in a mop closet.

The presser today makes the notion that he doesn't interview well even more strange. He's a great communicator.

Yeah clearly it has been a combination of being in Reids shadow and skin color. If he was white and/or Reid was a Defensive minded coach he would most certainly be a HC somewhere. It is pretty fucking obvious and pretty fucking sad.

I obviously never sat in on an interview with him so I can't speak to how he does there, but if that press conference was any indication, those reports seem to be a stretch. I also don't buy into "being in Reid's shadow" as a legitimate reason, as there are other OCs who served under Reid and went on to be Head Coaches.

It could also be this stuff:

Lost in his success with the Kansas City Chiefs is Eric Bieniemy’s rap sheet of poor decision-making:

February 1998: According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Colorado police arrested Bieniemy and teammate Kanavis McGhee after a bar fight. Bieniemy was charged with disorderly conduct and fighting in public, but he pleaded no contest. He and McGhee received deferred sentences and performed court-mandated community service.

July 4, 1990: According to the Orlando Sentinel, Bienemy pleaded no contest after allegedly shoving a firefighter. The University of Colorado Boulder suspended Bieniemy for one game in the upcoming season.

September 1993: Colorado police arrested Bieniemy, then in the NFL. The Orlando Sentinel reports that Bieniemy allegedly grabbed a female parking attendant by the neck and threatened her. The University of Colorado Boulder banned Bieniemy from its campus for one year as a result.

April 2001: According to the Daily Bruin, Colorado police arrested Bieniemy on a DUI charge, three months after he joined the football staff as a running back coach. He previously had his driver’s license suspended after numerous violations.

Bieniemy was also linked to allegations that Colorado’s football program “used alcohol and sex to lure recruits.” ESPN reported in 2004 that the university discovered there was evidence of drugs and alcohol being used to “entice recruits,” but no university officials were guilty of misconduct.

It's all 20+ years ago, but still something for owner's to consider when hiring someone to be the leader of a team of young men.

He has a clean slate here and the offense is all his. If the offense performs up to or exceeds expectations, and he doesn't get himself into trouble, he should be a Head Coach somewhere in the next couple years.

Honestly, after going through cancer, the death of his mom, and having to go through the worst of the Snyder fuckery, it would not surprise me if Ron steps down after having some success under a new owner.

The race angle doesn’t seem to hold much water since some of the jobs he was passed over for ended up going to minority coaches
