we are all arm chair QBs
Adam Peters is a professional and one the best at his job
Adam decide to trade SH for basically a wash or slight upgrade and the only team to draft him was us in the 5th round by a notoriously bad talent evaluator in RR
that is all you need to know about SH chances of being a franchise QB; he will be a solid back up for yaers and honestly that is pretty damn good for a 5th rounder

A fair enough statement, I don't think anyone thought he was a franchise QB, but of the 32 starting QBs in the league he wasn't the worst but arguable in the bottom 5 or 10. But QBs of any type are valuable assets, especially those on 5th round rookie contracts. Destined to be a good backup for the next ten years, but teams who don't have a top QB, or a chance of drafting one, will always overpay for the Sam Howells of this world.
Poor return. Good luck in Seattle sam and for us - do something with the picks

Oh there are some here that had him in the HoF already

Part of me wishes they would have kept Sam rather than sign Marcus. It's probably only because I was hoping he would work out. But obviously the new staff valued Marcus (at up to $10 mil) over Sam (at less than $1 mil), and that says all you need to know.

i will finish my thoughts up on this .. right now we got MM. We will draft a QB and we are one play from MM as our 24 starter . i hope the rookie is a home run and stays healthy (we could have not signed Marcus .. kept Sam and see what the Rookie has) .. i'm not a fan of MM ..at all

He had his knee injured in his rookie season because his OLine couldn't block, by Jon Allen if I recall. Missed a large part of the season. They then started putting major resources into building the OL. Who knows how that will effect the longevity of his career.
The point remains a bad OL didn't ruin him, and you are speculating that the injury was a direct result of that poor OL when we don't know that.

Pretty funny that Sam was a hotter commodity than justin fields.
Multiple teams were in on Sam trying to make a trade

Adding picks to move up to 1? [emoji848]

And find a better OT, I assume? When you replace a young, cheap, durable QB who may have some upside with Mariota for a little bit more draft capital, I'd say your your theory has legs.
Basically got the equivalent of a late 3rd/early 4th for Sam, I think that’s a slam dunk win for this trade
