GridIron26 08-12-2025, 12:19 PM Our WR room without Terry is buttcheeks. It will definitely effect the team if he actually sits out games.
I love Terry and I'm in the camp who wants to see Terry get paid (big money for the first 2 years), but JD is so good to the point where he can make WRs look good. Look at Zaccheaus, he is a journeyman WR and yet he had a positive impact on our offense last year.

OK but think about that. He's due 19.9M this year, so over 17 games that's $1.1M per game.
Each game he sits out he loses out on $1.1M in real money due to him this year.
Then, as he goes into next year, assuming he plays enough games this year for his contract to toll, has he done enough to earn the big payday he's looking for?
Remember Leveon Bell tried that move, he sat out leading into a contract year and it backfired on him bigtime as teams wondered if he still had it when he came back.
Chris Jones recently tried this tactic, he came back after one missed game. It's not a practical move. Terry's stuck, he's got to play.

I hope you're right. Just a frustrating situation. Shit is finally going right on all fronts and then this pops up. Still another month or so to figure it out. The team has more leverage for sure. I'd rather Terry be signed and extended than "forced" to play unhappy on a 1-year deal. But I understand they can't just give him 33 million or whatever either. Would love to know what has been our maximum offer vs. what is minimum accepted amount is.
CRedskinsRule 08-12-2025, 03:32 PM At today's scrimmage Terry and Peters were talking cordially. Quinn said Terry has been involved in team meetings. These aren't the actions of a player who is sitting out or planning to hurt the team. Truthfully no one knows what is actually happening and Peters knows they need Terry.
Clearly both parties are waiting to make sure they have the other's absolute best offer. I personally expect Terry to be on our team and happy for 3 more years.
edit just saw a video of it, maybe cordial isn't the right word. Terry standing there in a hoodie in the middle of August hands shovedein the pockets and AP with his hands on hips like he's lecturing.
Makes me wonder if Terry should even be talking directly to AP without a contract extension in place.

All due respect, if you think these situations don’t come up for good organizations, or that they won’t come up for us going forward, then you’re not in very good touch with the realities of NFL business. This is entirely normal.

Frustrated w/ the situation. Not w/ the team. After a magical season, would have been nice to have a nice, peaceful offseason. Guess that's just not really a thing in the NFL.
At the end of the day, McLaurin agreed to a 3-year contract, so the onus is on him more than the team.
AnonEmouse 08-13-2025, 06:56 AM I have come to the conclusion there are two scenarios here.
1) Terry is aware he's 'playing the game' and is making all this noise simply because he wants the best deal he can get and he's going to either back down and sign a reasonable offer or play out this year and see what happens in FA. If he's not a fool, he'll sign the deal.
2) He's getting really bad advice (agent), and he's ignoring outside people that are pointing out how precarious his position could become.
I really hope it's 1).

look at the steelers, every off season they seem to have some contract battle, i think we can all agree they are very well organization
Terry has two years left of a legit WR1, that is the reality, he came out of college at a old age , his window is/was smaller then others to get multiply big pay days
Chico23231 08-13-2025, 09:26 AM Terry isn’t going to sit out a game or season.
Do we agree on that?

at this point he is just hurting his stock
he will have to play unless he wants no paycheck and missing training camp there is a higher probability of soft tissue injuries
look a Brandon A sat out got hurt.
if i am Terry i get in camp play out my contract and bet on myself next year, or take the commanders current offer , he is a 30 year old WR
