I hope these guys understand that whatever they're doing isn't good enough, that includes Peters. Whitt does nothing for me at all. Maybe he doesn't have the tools. I hate Kliff's offense. JD isn't going to have a long career running 15 times a game.
I sorta feel like they couldn't wait to get rid of some of Ron's guys but they replaced them w/ players that aren't any better, maybe worse.
I used Forbes as an example. He's playing for a better team but he couldn't be fixed here? They couldn't wait to get rid of BRob but Bill really hasn't done that much better, maybe worse. What about Curl? I'm not sure he was worth the money but he's a starter for the Rams. And Dyami wasn't a world beater, but he could get behind the defense.
Just questioning some of the moves Peters has done. Like I have said, he gets credit for last year. He pressed all the right buttons.

I still trust from DQ up to Harris just about, though DQ's loyalty to Whitt is starting to confound me. I suspect a better DC, like Vance Joseph, would have gotten far more out of this D than Whitt. His inability to make adjustments between games (or actually follow through on your supposed adjustments), let alone in games is mind boggling. i.e. 'Magee will get more playing time'; OK where and when? You're leaving Wagner in on obvious passing downs and he's getting torched.
There's loyalty and then there's blind loyalty. The latter ultimately leads to you losing your job too.
I just don't know if it is mostly him or a total lack of talent. It seems to me that when guys can't make plays on the ball when it's in the air it's not on him. When guys can't hold the edge it's not on him.
I feel like he can blitz a bit more. If you suck on defense then you have to try some new shit. I'm going to empty my blitz package every game.

I agree on some of this, though I'm not convinced on BRob (from starter to bit part player in SF) and Brown (I'd have kept Zaccheus over him, losing both was a mistake). Brown had 4 years and did little with it. He was supposed to be able to take the top off a defence but never really showed it. And for a speedy guy, he's averaging 11.5 ypc in Jax on just 19 catches, so sorry, no I wouldn't be paying him $10M to be here.
For me, I'd have kept Curl and Chinn. For what we got in exchange, the cost of keeping them would have made sense. I think that was AP trying to appear strong in negotiations, and that may well work out in the long run, but I think it weakened our secondary this year, and was avoidable.
And Forbes has seen his playing time decline as the season goes on. he was a week 1 starter but now demoted and overall only had 60% of their snaps. For a #16 pick that isn't good.

Players being in the right position is a combination of coaching and scheme. I didn't watch the whole Seattle game (too depressing), but there were clear examples of outside runs making big ground because guys were in the wrong place. Yes they should know to get wider and set the edge, but if you're not in the right place to start with, that's hard to overcome. That's coaching. And if they can't correct that with coaching (by effectively the halfway point of the season!) it's not on the player. If they can't take it in, they should be replaced, and again, that's on the coach. Some players are uncoachable, but not the whole damn roster.
Definitely blitz more to overcome weak edge pressure, but blitz the right guys and put the right guys in coverage (i.e. blitz Luvu not use him as a spy), and come up with some fresh ideas with packages. Mix in DB blitzes (Lattimore might have been better rushing the passer than in coverage...), and hidden blitzes. Everything we do seems to be vanilla and telegraphed.

I wouldn't be upset if we let Whitt go.
As for Kliff - while there are times where his play calling make us scratch our heads (i.e., running from shotgun formation in the 3rd down and 1 yd situation), we cannot ignore the impact he had on JD. We all were clamoring how Kliff was a godsend for JD last year and then flip to the opposite this year, just because the offense isn't doing well. I say we give Kliff 1-2 more years before we decide his fate.

I can see KK being a HC again inside 2 years, especially for a team needing someone to nurture a young QB (Tenn.?). I agree keep him around, but may DQ leans on him to tweak the O with more NFL compatible options.
