I think the Eagles are going to be on the decline this year. Regardless of whether TO plays (and plays with heart), I don't think McNabb will be able to push their spat out of his subconcious - their team chemistry is kaput and they will lose games that they would have won in previous years. Dallas is the scary team for me... don't know why, but Bledsoe and Parcells (teamed up again) gets my blood up. I can't wait for the Dallas games.

I'm always scared of Dallas games if the past few years have been any indication...

I want to agree with you, but I'm going to abstain from predicting the demise of Philly. For the past four years, I've said they couldn't keep it up, and I'm proven wrong each time.

On the other hand, if Owens and McNabb can't be friendly, T.O. will blame all kinds of things on Donovan (anyone remember how the Owens/Garcia rift played out?). AND with the top TE receiving threat retired (bye-bye, Chad Lewis) and the top RB threat, receiving or otherwise, holding out (you get yours, Brian Westbrook, McNabb's offense could very well sputter. I know if Patrick Ramsey's top receiving targets were LJ Smith (34 catches for 377 yards in 2004) and Todd Pinkston (36 catches for 676 yards - in 2004, his fifth season!!)and his top RB was a holdout, I'd be worried indeed.

I'm with you, BL.

Seems like people have been quick to predict the demise of the Eagles for the past 3-4 years, and each year they have managed to be the top dog in the NFC.

While they're facing more difficulties than usual so far this preseason, I still expect them to be a 10 or 11 win team this year and the team to beat in the NFC East.

But WE'VE always been quick to predict the rise of the Redskins each year. :)

Again I'll repeat, I just have a feeling about this year. Of course I've said "This is gonna' be the year." but I really feel like this year WILL be.

My guts never lie...

...because I play them out each game.

No way... they may still be the team to beat in the NFC East, but I predict they finish no better than 3rd in the division this year. Towards the end of October, two things will be obvious:

1) TO does not guarantee wins; and
2) McNabb, while a very good QB, is not as good as he looked last year. He will revert to his 2003 stats.

I agree with you, I have a really good feeling for the Skins this year....I had the same feeling with the Spurs.

What would happen to the Eagles if McNabb went down for the season?

I don't wish it on anyone, but he is due for an injury.

Yeah, it would suck for them...I hate wishing bad things on people but yeah, he is due for an injury. That'd give other teams a slight edge on them.

Well, it wasn't the whole season, but in 2002 he went down for 6 games and the Eagles finished with a 12-4 record and went to the NFC Championship game.
