Lets also remember that 2/5 of the offensive line is new. And remember one o those guys is a center, the most critical position in terms of line calls. I believe are o-line will be a strenth if they are allowed to play to there strenths. Its an athletic line, not a huge mashing line.

How bout a little perspective:

1) The scrimmage took place at the end of the first week of camp. That's not even enough time for the players to air-dry their jock straps, let alone develop cohesiveness along the line.

2) It was the BALTIMORE RAVENS. Come on, those guys are menaces on defense. Trying to pick up blitzes in the first week of practice is tough enough, but dealing with Terrell Suggs, Ray Lewis, and Ed Reed makes it especially tough.

If the Redskins played the Ravens in the regular season I would definitely not be expecting a 21-17 game. I'd be hoping for a 10-6 win.

Carolina's D is tough too. I wouldn't expect a lot vs them either. What I'm looking for is that the offensive line doesn't get physically beaten. It's one thing if you miss assignments on blitzes, because that's a mental error and can be corrected. But if you're just getting physically beaten by your man, then there's a problem.

Very well said.. I think taking anything from a scrimmage is simply ridiculous. Teams don't scheme for a scrimmage (except Spurrier) so the fact that they got beaten on a 4-6 look with blitzes from everywhere doesn't concern me. If they were getting beaten on a straight 4-3 look with a 4 man rush and giving up 4 sacks that would be something to at least address but I'd fall way short of drawing conclusions from it. Let's wait until September at least before addressing strengths and weaknesses.

good point Schneed about us playing against the Baltimore defense within the first week of camp.

They are talented. very talented.
but i dont think they have the balls to play smash mouth football.
i complained all last year that samuels would lose it in the 4th quarter. he would fold every single game.

it will be interesting to see thomas and jansen team up, i think they have the attitude to play smath mouth ball.

hopefully they will set the tone for the other guys, if they do, portis should have holes len pasqurelli could run through.

Go to the Redskin Newswire and read the article about Jansen......he definitely is a throwback Hog.........I think his leadership will also inspire Dockery and the others to step up

Well, there were NO sacks tonight. A couple QB scrambles, but that's to be expected for any team. Didn't really run enough to get a great read on that, but it looks promising.

BTW, did you guys see Raymer make that big lead block for Broughton (I think)? I didn't know the guy could even move that fast to get out in front like that!
