Anyone else pissed that Cleveland got a 5th rounder for Andre Davis?

The biggest mistake we've made in the front office is trading coles it forced our hands by taking the cap hit. We basically gave Coles to the Jets for his yearly contract. By the way did anyone see him and Pennington tear it up against the Vikes...he looked great.

Coles isn't going to do anything spectacular for the Jets. He will not have a 1000 yds. in receiving and definintlely will not lead in TDs. Most Jets fans feel like we got the best end of the deal with Santana Moss. Sure Moss has had hamstring problems but no way near the kind of problem Coles has with the toe. I'll take Moss anytime with his speed on the deep ball over Coles.

The problem isn't Coles vs Moss talent its how much of a cap hit we took.

You have to calculate is Santana Moss 9 million dollars against the salary cap better than Coles. I'm willing to bet Coles has a better year than Moss, however more likely b/c of QB then anything else. Read this article

I just responded to your assessment of Coles's performance. I remember how good he looked on our first game of the season against the Jets 2 seasons ago. He went down hill from there. I'd rather take a cap hit than have a disgruntled player poluting the lockeroom with dissatisfaction. Look at the Eagles.

If you think he was a locker room cancer it might be worth it, but Gibbs seemed to get through to everyone. I'm just suprised he couldn't get Coles on his side.

To be honest with you. Chad Pennington's career is almost over. His rotator cuff injury is being played down until the Jets can get an experienced QB to replace him. He underwent major surgery this summer and unfortunately hasn't had the time to heal completely. But the Jets will make the playoffs.

I believe Coles' argument was that he wasn't getting the deep pass consistenly. And he won't get the deep ball with Pennington either.

If we didn't have Antonio Brown, I'd be upset that the Skins didn't offer a 4th round pick for him. In 2002, he had over 1000 yards just returning kicks (21.4 yd average) and last year he took a pass reception 99 yards to the house. He is capable of big plays and has sure hands. Davis was a bargain to the Pats for a #5.

Gardner, on the other hand, was inconsistent and was not a big play threat. Yeah, he caught a lot of balls, but he dropped too many big ones. I was happy that the Skins got anything for him. Now, if he becomes a monster in Carolina, I'll be more upset.

The real question we should be considering is, what if Clinton Portis fails to become a game breaker this year and Ricky Williams comes onto the market? Do we deal?

Naw, we keep Ricky away from the Skins, even if he has a good year. I still think he has some reservations about football beyond this year. He just doesn't sound too convincing in his interviews about playing football for the long-haul. Furthermore, I'd be surprised if Portis didn't have a good year, I'm betting Pro Bowl. Besides he seems to be committed to helping the Skins win. We'll see....

Come on you can't be serious. Ramsey's lack of actions speak louder than any words we fans call him. Some team will be stupid enough to think that it's the Redskins inability to use him to his full capabilities. Let's wait and see if Ramsey has a Drew Brees season. Not likely.

SUNRA,

I don't understand why you dislike Ramsey so much when you defended Brunell so much last season. Brunell was god awful in 9 games. Ramsey has played poorly in games and very good in others.

Granted Ramsey threw two picks last week that cost us points, but he also put up 190 yards in one half of one game. Brunell played several ENTIRE games last season without throwing for more than 150 yards.
