For some funny reason they think they'll be able to run all over a D that allowed a league best 3.1 yards per carry last year.

Hey, best of luck to them... with a rookie QB going up against a Gregg Williams' led defense, they are really going to need all the luck they can get.

With a rookie QB, do they actually think our D is going to respect the pass at all?? How many 8-man fronts do you think they'll see? Probably a few.

I hope their offensive line is up to the challenge, because I can see Williams blitzing from every direction.

As do I. I also see us sacking him so many times, he'll be terrified to hold onto the ball and throw up some picks. LaVar is going to have a field day.

Wow, I thought I was bad...these folks are just in a fantasy world. While I do think the Bears are improved, we are as well and will eliminate the turnovers that plagued our offense last year and win this game late.

My post on their thread.

"First of all, I'm a Skins fan but I do live in reality.
1) Our offense is unproven, but our offensive line is one of the more dominant ones in the league. Portis will have a field day barring the Bears having a banner day during an AWAY game.
I'm sure they'll be up to the challenge, I doubt any backs from both teams will have a banner day, this will be a defensive battle IMO.
2) Yes, you had many starters out last year, but I don't believe the starters who are coming back are enough to make an impact against Portis.
I thought you lived in reality ? Urlacher, Brown, O-Gun, and Tillman. LOL
3) Our passing game has been improving steadily since the preseason started, but I'll believe that when I see it.
Nice to see you come back down.
5) I too was worried about the Skins overlooking the Bears, but it's opening day so that worry is alleviated momentarily.
I don't think the Redskins or the Bears are in any position to overlook any teams at this point.
6) Two words: Matt Schaub. He is living proof that you can be king of the preseason and suck during the regular season. Not to say that Orton won't light it up, but Schaub and Orton have striking similarities.
Totally irrelevant. "

Really. bearsfan8558 is a Skins fan. That has to be the cleverest screen name ever then. You must really throw people, showing up at Redskins pep rallies with your Urlacher jersey on.

The simple truth is that your team may end up pretty good, but they aren't going to start out there. Orton will see defenses that stymied seasoned veterans last year. I wouldn't expect much out of him on Opening Day. He may turn out great, but he's going to have to build his way there.

As for Thomas Jones, he's a good back, not a great one. If he was really all that some of the posters here claim he is, why would the Bears waste the 4th overall pick on a RB they obviously had no contract parameters set up with?

Very nice. Love to see people represent on there. I HATE debating with people who have NO intelligence whatsoever. And he could only name four players?! HA! Our whole defense is high quality.

And how is Matt Schaub irrelevant? It seems DAMN relevant to me.

it's irrevelant to them. See, they're bears fans, to them their team, combined with a rookie 3rd string qb, and an average running back against our #1 ranked run defense, means they're unstoppable. Oh man, look at this

some guy said something about Joe Gibbs and Gregg Williams using truck drivers and plumbers, hmm let me find the quote.

"He'll probably do pretty well against the Skins if Joe Gibbs and Gregg Williams decide to play the truck drivers and plumbers that Orton played against in the Bills game. My guess is however that the Skins might put at least a couple of starters out there. "

That was hilarious!!!

OK, the Bears are an NFL team with a good D, so they are not to be overlooked, but come on! They say you can't use last year's Bear team as a comparison to this year's, but they go ahead and do just that with the Redskins who have a different QB, WR's, etc. and also have starters on D returning from injury. What a bunch of morons!

I think those guys have brain tumors from too much sausage intake. What morons. I also look back to last year's giants team when looking at the bears O this year--rookie QB (first overall pick to boot), OK receivers, pretty good running back (better than TJ), good D, and shockey which the bears don't have--and what did they do last year? Nothing. We killed them once and we should have one the first one if not for the turnovers. The only team in recent memory that's done really well with a rookie QB is Shittsburgh, and I don't think we're going to see that again this year, especially not with Orton and the bears. So far this year, it looks like we've improved in just about every area. We may not blow the bears out, but I definitely feel good about a win. I'm going to be in chicago that sunday on business unfortunately and I'm definitely going to be packing the jersey.:headbange
