Big Problem Brewing?

The coaching staff (espicially Greg Williams) has been constantly gushing about Sean Taylor, & why not. But, this obvious verbal favoritism can cause big problems in a locker room. Especially when LaVar is highly sensitive to someone taking his "#1 redskin" spot.

You know, I just don't see Lavar crying himself to sleep at night over it, and if he does care and uses it as motivation, thats far from a big problem.

Well greg williams is honest and he says that he is his favorite player due to his ability. I think Lavar has already lost the leadership position to marcus washington. Lavar will have to build his way back up because i think more fans would call marcus washington and taylor more important parts of our defense. I dont think those fans will be saying that at the end of the season, but after the guy sits out a year and falls to the back of everyones minds some will say it now.

Lavar is going to have a great year this year. He's probably playing with a huge chip on his shoulder put there by the fans talking shit and the media. (he was polled as the most overrated player in the league). On top of that he was always a great player and is in the prime of his career and I think he's still the best athlete on the team hands down.

Oh i agree i am a lavar lover not a lavar hater. But if a poll was taken right now i think most fans could make a strong argument that washington and taylor are the most important on our defense. I think that once Arrington starts playing full games he will go back to his dominating role on defense. It is good motivation to play when everyone is doubting you. I hope that lavar has a great year because i know we have two of the top ten outside linebackers in the league

you honestly think lavar would start crying cuz he's not mr. redskin anymore? did anyone watch that interview with the media where he said he was glad the pressure wasn't on him anymore, he wasn't "the guy", and he was glad that he can concentrate on football exclusively now and not have to worry about the pressure for him to succeed? i don't think lavar is the kind of person that goes to bed at night thinking "boo hoo, gregg williams likes sean taylor more than me", does anyone else think that lavar isn't the self centered jerk he's made out to be?

That's a non-issue if I ever did hear one. Lavar knows his place. Taylor IS the most important player on the D. His range allows Williams to run CB blitzes - with both CBs blitzing. The second and third most important players on the D are Shawn Springs and Walt Harris because without their man coverage skills no blitzes would be able to happen.

Next you're talking about Cornelius Griffin and Marcus Washington being the next most important players for their run-stuffing abilities.

Lavar starts entering the equation after you talk about all the other guys. He's a talented player no doubt, but Williams showed exactly how much Lavar is needed in this defensive scheme last year: hardly needed at all.

Lavar adds the big-play ability for turnovers, but he's not the key cog he once was.

I would argue that Sean Taylor is the best athlete on the team hands down.
I think Lavar may have lost a step (hopefully not).

But ST can play LB, CB, S, WR, and Bugel even mentioned how he could use him at RB.

I would say Taylor, Griff, and M.Washington.....in that order.

Lavar knows that his job is to get back to dominating the other teams offense again like he used to. He is well on his way back and we are seeing glimpses of what may be in store in the very near future.

As long as there are 10 million Arrington jerseys being worn around Redskins park, I don't think he would care even a little. He's still the fan favorite.
