MTK 09-19-2005, 10:20 AM Very strange http://gamesfirst.com/?id=677 That Guy 09-19-2005, 10:35 AM Very strange http://gamesfirst.com/?id=677 if by strange you mean totally awesome, then yes, yes it is... its wireless, it serves as the remote, and you can move your character on screen by moving the controller through the air... it has like a usb port that a normal joystick/dpad deal can also be attached to if needed... the cool part is if you turn it sideways, its the old school NES controller with the dpad in one hand and the A B in another... they said they'd be offering retro games for those that wanted them ;) its definately interesting if nothing else... skinsfanthru&thru 09-19-2005, 10:57 AM it looks like a remote/vibrator. plain and simple. I don't really care for the waving my controller at the screen to have my character do something, I already yell at my controllers for messing up enough as it is. I was really, really, really psyched up about having Nintendo's library of games @ my finger tips with just one system (other than my pc), but as bad as I had thought the controller would look, I never imagined something like that. it's only saving grace for me is the ability to plug in the gamecube controllers which also aren't the best designed controllers, lol. plus I need to see some actual games exclusive for the revolution other than them possibly trying to shift zelda twilight princess onto the new system. illdefined 09-19-2005, 10:59 AM the idea, and execution seems great. im glad Nintendo is trying something new and different. but i can't help thinking how tiring it'd be to play with this after a while. MTK 09-19-2005, 11:01 AM Gotta give Nintendo credit for trying something that actually is Next-Gen. After all, they were the first to introduce the analog stick, and that's now a staple on controllers. Of the 3 systems coming out I'm looking forward to Nintendo the most with their retro game library. That Guy 09-19-2005, 11:11 AM at least they're trying something different... the xbox controller is proof of everything that's gone wrong, and then been hopelessly piled on in gaming... too big, too many buttons that aren't really needed etc... illdefined 09-19-2005, 11:14 AM Gotta give Nintendo credit for trying something that actually is Next-Gen. Of the 3 systems coming out I'm looking forward to Nintendo the most with their retro game library. heh, next-gen but you wanna play games from gens past. i'm excited to see all the new games nintendo makes for this, but im not counting on on too many from 3rd parties. i'm also very bummed the revolution isn't supporting HD. skinsfanthru&thru 09-19-2005, 11:17 AM this thing just looks like it was designed for kids like those sports games where u interact with the tv ie bowling, baseball, and soccer. I'm a bit old fashioned on some things and I'm more comfortable spending the type of money these systems r gonna cost on a system with a controller that is the most comfortable for me rather than an expiremental controller that I KNOW I'd personally break out of frustration in less than a month, lol. If Nintendo keeps up their pace with recent system releases, we will see them go the route of Sega sooner rather than later. Atleast they have gameboys to keep them a float, and on that note, what the heck is up with the gameboy micro? MTK 09-19-2005, 11:42 AM Nintendo is the only one of the big 3 that makes a solid profit, they won't be going the way of Sega anytime soon, plus you have to consider that world-wide they are the #2 in places like Japan. The description of how this controller could work with first person shooters sounds pretty damn cool. skinsfanthru&thru 09-19-2005, 11:55 AM Nintendo is the only one of the big 3 that makes a solid profit, they won't be going the way of Sega anytime soon, plus you have to consider that world-wide they are the #2 in places like Japan. The description of how this controller could work with first person shooters sounds pretty damn cool. well if Nintendo were to lose more 3rd party titles, there'd be no way for them to compete especially in the biggest video market in the world, the US. I wish all of these sytems would wait a while cuz all I want is another system to keep me as happy as my Genesis back in the day. man I miss that system, might have to buy one off of ebay now, lol. |
