McCants, Ohalete, Brian Johnson were all late picks/undrafted, but I believe they were all Marty picks, so Joe has a point.
All I can think of for Cerrato is Cartright, but consider that we haven't had as many late picks the past couple years, plus everyone wants to give all the top players a year under a REAL NFL coach to prove what they can do, so the same should be said for the "no-names" barely on the roster and on the practice squad.
It's the coaches that take the 80 or so players in training camp and decide who is worthy of keeping on the roster, not the FO. If and when Gibbs and company recognize hidden talent and potential, they will bring it out. Are the Patriots scouts really THAT much better then the rest of the league? I think not...a lot of it is coaching.

McCants was a draft pick during the first year of Spurriers stay, Ohalete was a free agent pick up, and Johnson was an undrafted rookie free agent and I think your right that Johnson and Ohalete were Marty pick ups but Cerrato was here when Marty was. and I agree that the PAtriots r the perfect example of a team choosing the right players that will fit within the team's scheme.

Not to argue, but McCants was a 5th rounder in 2001 (the Schotty year), but he spent his whole first season on the practice squad.

He went to my high school (granted, many years later than me!), so I have tried to keep up on him, and have been pulling for him ever since he was picked by the Skins...

Snyder never uses late round people. He likes the big name people, and the peopel that once had big names. Hence most of the mistakes hes made over the last five years. Theres no point in even listing all the people hes signed on name recognition alone. Now that we have a deep coaching staff players should hopefully progress a lot faster and become better players. Before we relied on pure talent.

If you look at the patiots last year, around weeks 5 and 6, all most their whole team was injured. They lost a lot of their big names and iddnt seem to lose a step. Ironically the only team that beat their backups was us. Thats coaching for you, when you lose a ton of starters, and win the super bowl. This league usually comes down to teh team with the fewest injuries, that proved to not be true last year.

my bad, you're right, but that still means he was drafted during Cerrato's stay unless that was the year he took off cuz I remember cerrato working for espn for a little bit in between employment under Snyder.
