Is there another 3-0 team in NFL history that could be considered worse to refute such charges? (Obviously I don't think we are the worst, but is there a team that ended up 4-12 or 5-11 after a 3 win start?)
Any info would be great. I'll look around too.
I haven't done any research yet, but I can testify to a horrible 2-0 team. The Phoenix Cardinals under the head coaching of our beloved Joe Bugel started 2-0 in 1991. In their first game, they beat the unimpressive L. A. Rams 24-14. The following week, they clobbered the tough Philadelphia Eagles 26-10 (however, the Eagles had lost Randall Cunningham in the first game). In week 3, the Cards traveled to RFK for a clash with the 'Skins, who were also 2-0. It was supposed to be a clash for the division title, but we murdered them 34-0 and the rest is history. They finished 4-12 and I think Bugel was gone by the end of the season.
