crlesh 10-14-2005, 09:15 AM It's funny, really... whenever I read one of the CNNSI analysts' work, I feel like I'm reading something that my next door neighbor wrote. Don't get me wrong, my neighbor is a smart guy and I like talking football with him. But he's no different than me - he's not an expert. He just has an opinion. CNNSI has absolutely no football credibility with me, anyway.
BDBohnzie 10-14-2005, 09:51 AM the only reason this guy has a column is because he knows html and is able to put it onto the web.
it's a shame that he's called Brunell crappy (not the best out there, but not crappy ala David Carr), Gibbs an air head (3 SB Victories, where are his?) and our offense West Coast (since when does Gibbs run West Coast?). locker room motivation...put it on the board, yes!
firstdown 10-14-2005, 11:00 AM When he calls Gibbs clueless and calls Brunell crappy says he's the ass with a pen. Now if he would have said last year in game 8 that Gibbs was cluless and Brunell was crappy I may have agreed but Gibbs stuck with his feelings about Brunell and ended up being correct. I remember at the end of last year when Gibbs was talking about how good Brunell was and I thought he was off his rocker but Gibbs and Brunell are proven alot of people wrong. I for one.
56FAN 10-14-2005, 11:07 AM it's got to be crack, it's got to be.:boxing: :Flush: :smashfrea take your pick.what a waste of ink and time.you know what?, i just don't care anymore, i don't want nor need the praises and respect of these so called experts. we know whats going on here, we can feel the pulse of this team we are getting better. so , to the others.take a flying leap.we don't need you around anyhow.
hurrykaine 10-14-2005, 11:11 AM What? Yes, we haven't been scoring 30 points per game yet, but it's not like we've been going 3 and out in the majority of our drives. I think it's been quite exciting for us...we just have to improve in the Red Zone.
That's my point - we watch every skins possession with bated breath only because we're emotionally invested in the skins. A neutral fan of the game would not consider our offense exciting - despite the fact that we have exciting individual players like Portis and Moss.
That's said, this could all change over the course of the season, and we could join the list of exciting offenses like the colts, giants, eagles, chiefs, chargers, seahawks, rams (until lately), and some of these teams could drop out from the list.

How about those exciting Rams & Vikings O. Its better to be thought a fool than to speek and remove a doubt. They should remind these writers of this.

they'd tell you a fool with a paycheck is better than a possible fool that's broke.
#56fanatic 10-14-2005, 12:09 PM this dude obviously hasn't a clue on what the SKINS mentality is. Pound you until you give in. Now back in the hayday we offered a little more deep balls, but our running game is no where close to what it use to be. Until we can make people respect our ability to hit you deep, our running game is going to struggle some what. Once they start respecting the deep threat, Portis will start breaking off those 150 yard games we are use to seeing from him. Also, look for Patten to have a big day this week, I just feel they are not going to let Moss get deep, and may lose focus on our other deep ball threats. You say a little of that last week, on the bogus pass interference call in the endzone against Patten.
SkinsRock 10-14-2005, 02:15 PM My guess is that he has not actually watched any Skins games, probably with the exception of the first half of the Dallas game, so he's basing his assertions primarily off of last year's performance. Don't we, after only 4 games, have close to as many, if not more long passes this year than all of last year? Yeah, the scoring hasn't been what we'd like, but if the offense keeps doing what they're doing, it will...my bet is it begins this week against a weak KC defense.
FRPLG 10-14-2005, 04:36 PM Another example of a moron journalist. I'd be ok if he didn't work for the foremost sports journalism magzine in the country. They're suppose to know something about sports and this guy obviously does not. If he had seen us play this year he'd know we don't have a "dink and dunk" offense, our QB play has been at least OK, and jesus man Gibbs has 3 SBs so he can't be "clueless". Just another media lemming throwing in on an issue he has no idea what the hell he is talking about. And all the crap about being "just a fan"? Well buddy I am "just a fan" and I don't get to write for SI. Writing for SI makes you something different than a "fan". It makes you a journalist who has at least a modicum of responsibility to write with you know like COMPETENCY on whatever it is you are writing about.
