Our biggest problem on D is the lack of a pass rush. While Walt Harris did a poor job covering today, when you don't get pressure (without blitzing) it's just too much time in the pocket to get the job done. There's no way a rookie QB should have picked our D the way Simms did today.

....we can't cover Tampa's 1,3 and 4 WR's and had a hard time against Philly's 2,3,4's what the hell are they going to do against Moss and Porter or even Bruce and Holt. Taylor coming back will help at least.
That's a brilliant point. Those games, against those receivers could decide the fate of this season.
Judging from what we've seen, Moss, Porter, Bruce and Holt will eat this team alive.

First of all, I've always been a realist -- almost to the point of pessimism. I've seen the flaws of this team since week one, and I don't hesitate to point them out, even when they win.
While the Skins are worlds apart from where they were a year ago, one area steps up and improves one week, while another segment takes a step back. Pass rush and turnovers continue to be a problem with no solution in sight, even with the wizard Joe Gibbs involved.
I believe the history books will eventually tell the story of the 2005 Redskins as a "middle of the pack" team -- with a 'one and done' playoff appearance.
As always though, I hope I'm wrong.

Roger stunk too. I think we really missed Sean Taylor today.

cooley and sellers are not deep threats. moss is the only one.
What difference does it make what kind of WR Moss is. Cooley and Sellers are still decent WR's moreso than any other TE and FB combination in the league. Remember Sellers has more TDs (6) than Moss (5) So please save the rhetoric about the Redskins just having one decent WR.

My point is Moss would be that much better with another TRUE reciever on the other side of him.Nothing against cooley or sellars they are invaluable to this team.

Every winning team in the league is one player away from having a losing record.
I don't here any of the NFL experts criticizing Delhomme and Steve Smith, McNabb and T.O. or Manning and Plaxico Burress for having only one WR as a weapon. Every team has one outstanding WR and RB. That's it. Anything else is on the defensive side of the ball. That's the point I was trying to make.
I bet most people can't even name the the 2# receivers for most of the teams in the league with winning records.

At this point, I really have no complaints about our passing game overall. Sooner or later though, if Moss has a bad game, and some team is able to shut him down, you would hope that David Patten is capable of picking up the slack.
I just think that Brunell is really in sync with Moss and Cooley. They are his favorite targets, they find ways to get open, and they make the catch.
Would I like another Monk and Clark tandem? Sure. But as long as we can keep a winning record, I really don't care where the passes are distributed.
The main concern now has to be the defense, with their non-existent pass rush, and big play weaknesses.
