I had posted this somewhere else... Is Gibbs doing the play calling or is the OC? If it's the coordinator, maybe JG needs to takeover.

BleedBurgundy 11-20-2005, 05:18 PM I've been positive since we first lost Coach Gibbs, I've had enough. Now I'm being realistic. We're a bad team. I think anytime you win half your games, you're average. I think that we're bad compared with the overestimations of many on this site (including myself). SmootSmack 11-20-2005, 05:19 PM I had posted this somewhere else... Is Gibbs doing the play calling or is the OC? If it's the coordinator, maybe JG needs to takeover. As is my understanding, Don Breaux is the offensive coordinator and he makes the calls. And, of course, Gibbs has the power to overturn them but probably rarely does. But they were saying today that Jack Burns and Joe Bugel have input on play calling also. And I'm sure Musgrave does too So really, this might be a case of too many cooks in the kitchen BleedBurgundy 11-20-2005, 05:20 PM I just thought we were getting cute with the three consecutive pass plays when we should have been pounding it. Portis was running strong today... SmootSmack 11-20-2005, 05:21 PM I just thought we were getting cute with the three consecutive pass plays when we should have been pounding it. Portis was running strong today... When was that? BleedBurgundy 11-20-2005, 05:23 PM fourth quarter, tied at 13. We had a three and out with three consecutive passes. One of them was an overthrow to Jacobs. skinsguy 11-20-2005, 05:23 PM I agree TAFKAS! I'm not sure if they don't rotate who calls the most plays (amongst games.) Sometimes I see Gibbs with the clipboard, obviously making the decisions, but other times I think he just radios the plays in from upstairs. Not sure if that is the best thing to do. SUNRA 11-20-2005, 05:42 PM I just thought we were getting cute with the three consecutive pass plays when we should have been pounding it. Portis was running strong today... Portis did exactly what Gibbs has preached and teached from the mountain top not to do. Turnovers are the enemy of this team and the lack of turnovers is catching up with them. Now let's see how they adjust to this adversity. Rockinganker 11-20-2005, 05:43 PM I the 4th quarter, I saw MB throw a go route 4 times in a row with the same result. Incomplete! Bad play calling and just all around bad play by Mark today. Now that I have cooled down a little, I'm hoping to see a big change come Sunday against the Chargers. We are a better team then the record shows. Come on and pull this thing together. SUNRA 11-20-2005, 06:08 PM I the 4th quarter, I saw MB throw a go route 4 times in a row with the same result. We are a better team then the record shows. Come on and pull this thing together. Mark did not have a bad game today. Tayor Jacobs with all of the hype about his crisp routes and high-calliber speed looke like Coles and Gardner last year. He is not fast against the CB's defending him. At no time did I see him separate on these no-name CB's. Every deep pass intended for Jacobs was incomplete because of his failure to get open. With the game on the line, why didn't the play involve Santana Moss or Cooley? This points to the reason why we have loss the close games. No consistency. |
