Vick is in on name alone. Let's not kid ourselves and try to sugar coat it by pointing to wins or his lack of WRs. It's not like he throws to his WRs anyway.
Vick is a HUGE brand name. He's easily the most marketable name in the NFL today. Fans love him because of his incredible physical talents, and I'm not denying the guy is a freak of nature. But as an overall QB, I'm sorry but I can name a bunch of guys who are better QBs than Mike Vick and who were more deserving of a Pro Bowl nod.
Bozzy 12-22-2005, 11:18 AM Chris Cooley should have made the probowl as a TE, what a crock.
Oh well the ProBowl is dumb anyways.
JWsleep 12-22-2005, 12:13 PM F@#% the Pro Bowl. No one watches it anyway. The Skins get no respect. They will just have to earn it by going to the playoffs and winning playoff games. The Pro Bowl selections will follow next year.
I'm with you, hail. And I'd rather be overlooked at this point--it puts yet another chip on the shoulder of our team.
skins052bgr8 12-22-2005, 01:29 PM Dan Patrick gives Brunell some love and says he should have been the # 2 QB behind Hasslebeck and the third QB slot is a toss up between Delhomme, Vick, and Eli, but Brunell should have definitely been voted in because of his play. Could not agree more.

jdlea 12-22-2005, 01:51 PM How come last week I was wrong for judging people based on stats, which by the way, included wins, but this week all people want to do is use stats to explain why Vick is overrated.
First of all, the Falcons are one of the worst teams in the league without Michael Vick on the field. He may not be a great passer, but he changes games. You can't honestly tell me that you think coaches lose sleep over Mark Brunell or Drew Bledsoe. That's why Vick gets votes. When coaches and players go up against Mike Vick they have to come up with ways to stop him. If I were coming up with a gameplan against the Skins or Boys I would try to make Brunell or Bledsoe beat me.
Second, Vick has no one but Crumpler and Dunn on offense. Don't give me that "he doesn't throw to recievers" nonsense. He doesn't throw to them because they're garbage. He has one legit target. The offense is him and Dunn. That's it.
Vick is the MVP of his team every single season. Without him, we've seen what happens to the Falcons. Michael Vick changes games and people respect what he can do way more than Brunell or Bledsoe.
Hey boys fans you listening?
Safeties
Who they picked: AFC – John Lynch, Troy Polamalu and Bob Sanders; NFC – Mike Brown, Darren Sharper and Roy Williams.
Who they forgot: Sean Taylor – Boy, I must seem like a Redskins fan. But the kid has been far more of an impact player than Williams, who’s guilty of being subpar in coverage and known better for his horse-collar (or, shirt-collar) tackles. Taylor is so
key to Gregg Williams’ man-free defenses, able to cover the slot receivers, blanket tight ends or sit back in coverage as a center fielder.

He's still overrated.
Southpaw 12-22-2005, 01:57 PM He's still overrated.
Valid argument. You've changed my view of Michael Vick completely, with that in depth analysis.
hurrykaine 12-22-2005, 01:57 PM Chump Bailey made it to the Pro Bowl yet again. I can almost predict next year's probowl selections. Let's see, Vick makes it yet again, so does Champ, and let's not forget Roy Williams, and Derrick Brooks, and oh Lavar (if he plays a full season).
