Skintight 12-26-2005, 04:22 PM I think yellow31 is correct. No, the wolfeskin guy is right. It would go to their NFC record to determine who gets in. wolfeskins 12-26-2005, 04:29 PM No, the wolfeskin guy is right. Even with 3 it would be only if 1 had beaten BOTH the others. Conference would be next though. BigSKINBauer 12-26-2005, 04:41 PM wolfe is right if there is a three way tie in this situation it goes to a conference but if one team had lost to both teams they would be out or if one team beat the other two they would be in. After that it goes to tiebreaker by conference That is why if the steelers tied with the jags and the chargers they would have been out even though they beat the chargers wolfeskins 12-26-2005, 04:45 PM Got to disagree on this 1 guys......with 2 teams its head to head if applicable, which it would be because cowboys beat Car. Conference would be next though. no, why do you think the skins were in position to beat the cowboys ,dallas and minnesota ? it was because the skins have the best record inside of their conference ( NFC ). now if two or more teams have identical overall records and conference records then it goes to head to head. Skintight 12-26-2005, 04:51 PM Playoff spots go in this order. 1. Division winners - This is why Patriots a playoff spot early when SD & KC had better records. 2. Overall Record 3. Conference record - If it's b/n division teams, then it's division record, but if it's b/n 2 teams from different conferences, then they go with the team with the best record in the conference. A team that was 5-7 wouldn't get in over a team that is 8-4 in the conference regardless of head-2-head. Skintight 12-26-2005, 04:52 PM Head-2-head is only used if the 2 teams have the same conference record. 44deisel44 12-26-2005, 05:44 PM http://football.about.com/cs/football101/a/nfl_tiebreakers.htm Yellow was right. We would go if 3 way tier between us Cowboys and Car because head to head would not apply because we did not play Car. It would then go to CONF record because teams are from diff divisions!!! Head to head is ALWAYS 1st tie break. |
