From the New York article:
"Furman Center researchers found that the city gained 170,000 new housing units from 2000 to 2008."

Wow - they built too many houses and then the market crashed. The explosion in price occurred at the same time as your articles show the building boom. NOT BEFORE. Where's the proof that the housing boom existed before prices exploded?

Timeline of the United States housing bubble - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Further, neither of your articles mention anything about the so-called easy money available to builders PRE-BOOM and which, according to you, was the ultimate cause of the housing crash.

Don't worry, I won't tax your limited comprehension skills by requesting you prove your hyperbole. Feel free to cling to your comfortable, simple misconceptions.
Thank you very much

I've heard that no Mexicans outside the town of Puebla even celebrate Cinco De Mayo. Apparently the "holiday" celebrates when that particular town fought off the French in 1862. Mexico was ultimately unable to stop the European "intervention."
So what's your point?

I'm terribly sorry if you found it insulting. I meant it with all kindness. Since your posts are never insulting to anyone and are always so respectful to other points of view, I did not think you would impute any insulting intent into my remark. Clearly, I erred and I apologize for your failure to comprehend my intent.

Actually, I look forward to your posts and your take on the world. Your statements and point of view are incredibly entertaining to any one who has a working knowledge of history, finance and/or current events. I am constantly amazed and incredibly amused at how deeply you hold convictions so divorced from reality. Kudos to you!!

My point is that Americans seem to care more about this "holiday" (an excuse to drink coronas and margaritas) than Mexicans do. Also, I don't care what day of the year it is, if an American in the USA wants to wear a tshirt of the American flag, he/she should be allowed to do so. Period.

Yeah california is weird. Years back all the hispanic school going kids did a sit out on cesar chavez day to protest against the immigration laws. As you can guess, it turned into an "anybody who opposses open immigration is a racist" stuff.

If you had an american flag and not a mexican flag, you were a racist.

I dont get it, hold a rally in america trying to bring spotlight to the immigration issue but instead of including the american flag in america they were waiving their mexican flag.

The border is 15 miles down the road, if you cant bring yourself to waive an american flag, dont waive your mexican flag in my face expecting me to respect it. In CA and im sure AZ, alot of immigrants feel like they are entitled to more than we the average citizen receive. Really it is the younger generation of hispanics in that part of our country that have unrealistic yet unwavering demands.

My judge used to say that immigrants must embrace and become a working beneficial part of society and not try and form their own little communities exclusive to immigrants while shunning the outside world.

In san diego, there a neighborhoods were stores have signs on the front saying "Yes, we speak american". lol

all this is just my opinion based on my experiences. other people could have the exact same experiences and walk away with a different impression. ive been down to mexico a ton of times, great place if your in the right places.

apparently the school district and I agree with you. i wonder what nationality/race the principal is or whoever made the decision to threaten suspension if they didnt remove their american shirts and bandanaa.

and this goes to my post above regarding the younger generation of hispanics in CA (and I assume AZ). literally, if you were (for my homie FD)an american shirt on any of their holidays, they view that as dissent from their demands and take it as a provocation to violence or hatred or intolerance.

just not a good way to try and peacefully assimilate both our cultures if any given mexican holiday only mexican flags can be waived or worn in the US. these teenage hispanic kids are going malcolm x when they should be going MLK.

when you hold a cesar chavez or cinco de mayo festival in america, maybe include both national flags and not demand only the mexican flag gets represented.

Re: Arizona's New Immigration Law

I feel like they should be able to wear the Amercian flag, but not the confederate flag (seeing as they wer fighting against america).

Re: Arizona's New Immigration Law

nothing wrong with southern pride imo. now i wouldnt want a state or city repping it on their gov't flag but as a bumper sicker or truck decal? whatever.

but that confederate flag does stir up fright, anger and bad thoughts among black people. my girl when she sees one on a truck or something, well lets just say she starts muttering some not so nice words.
