| Gen. Stanley McChrystal He's keeping it real, should be interesting to see whether Obama keeps it real too and fire the general and his entire staff. I do understand McChrystal's frustration though, he has been given a task can't possibly complete. If poor judgement is grounds for dismissal, call in Donald Trump.

| Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal He should have resigned before he bad mouthed the Administration. Everyone knows the war is lost though.

| Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal Yeah, I thought he was keeping it real, until I read this: "He prefers Bud Light Lime (his favorite beer)..." Badass Generals should drink Whiskey.

| Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal Wow. What is the purpose of the Afghan war again? Oh, find bin Laden. Only one problem, he does not exist as a human being, he is an idea, a cultural phenomenom. Western civilization has too much hubris to understand this.

| Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal I read several articles about this whole thing this morning. Honestly, it's alarming. Afghanistan is the now the longest war in our nation's history. To have a general of McChrystal's caliber calling out the administration... Sheesh. A few of the articles I read spoke of what an excellent general he is, and how he's always been very respectful of others, particularly his superiors. I don't really know much about the man, but if that's true, that makes this whole thing even more troubling. Very unfortunate.

| Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal Afghanistan would've been over had Bush not taken vacation during it ![]() Honestly though it's hard to give either admin much credit on the situation. When someone inherits the "cleanup effort" it's hard to blame them more though. What makes me wonder is why neither admin really committed what they said it would take. Maybe they knew something that's just not coming to light for us common folk. |

| Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal How do you have a war on terrorism and an open border? The answer is (drum roll please) it's a big lie.

| Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal Well judging from what's going on and seeing as it's the longest war we've had. It looks like a Jim Zorn type situation. That is sad. It's over. Brang the boys home regroup and prepare for Iran. That's what a good strategist would do. Pride won't let us regroup though.

| Re: Gen. Stanley McChrystal It's time we bring our troops home. We've allowed both wars to be overly politicized (as all wars are) and too damn costly for our country. |
