| Re: Are You Ready For Some Football? Hank Williams Jr. Isn't... ESPN & Fox News were obviously part of a huge media conspiracy to attack HW Jr. What an idiot. BTW, enjoyed the intro. Great idea for the rest of the season. Substance over Style...I like it. Next season, would really love the old school intro with Jaws/Chucky doing a Cosell-like breakdown on each team.

| Re: Are You Ready For Some Football? Hank Williams Jr. Isn't... My musings….. Ive never been a Hank jr. fan and i never really cared much about his football intro. I don’t really care that hes gone but the nostalgic side of me misses his intro a little bit. I didn’t see the new intro (was watching tigers/rangers) but it sounds like people here liked it, im sure I will too. Hank’s analogy wasnt racist. However what he said was dumb, poorly worded and perhaps ignorant, however, no less so then people who have been quick to jump on Hank and call him a racist. People in this country are all too quick to brand someone a racist without anything to back it up and it disgusts me. People seriously need to think and have justification before calling others racist or any other incendiary word. I don’t even think hank has ever said or done anything racist, although he is white, wears a cowboy hat, plays a guitar and doesn’t like obama, and unfortunately that’s all some people think they need nowadays to brand someone a racist. Espn/abc had to fire him because of the polarization the situation caused, even if the division was partially fueled by ignorance in some thinking what hank said was raciest. Lil wayne popped into my head this morning and I thought about many of the racial, homophobic and political incendiary things he has said and continues to say and I think espn should cut ties with him too. I like some of lil wayne’s contributions to espn but some of the things he says in his lyrics, interviews and drunk rantings are pretty bad and it is one thing for me and most others not to care but it is irresponsible that espn is allowing it as his employer. | Re: Are You Ready For Some Football? Hank Williams Jr. Isn't... Without getting into specifics there are different situations with HW and Wayne as to their relationship with ESPN. That said, I'm not the biggest fan of Wayne being part of the programs, not my call though...but he brings the most ridiculous entourage with him everytime

| Re: Are You Ready For Some Football? Hank Williams Jr. Isn't... Unfortunately simple guys (like me) cant really tell theres a relationship difference, but i havent heard anyone make the double standard comparison of HW and Wayne so it doesnt really matter. Although if news sources threw the continued relationship with Wayne into the public debate I think ESPN would have been forced to break it off with both or keep them both. You know how sometimes you just continue dating a girl because it is too hard to break up with her without a good reason? Maybe that was the case with Hank and ESPN....

| Re: Are You Ready For Some Football? Hank Williams Jr. Isn't... What's that saying? It's not the crime, it's the coverup. Or something like that. Anyhow, Hank Williams' refusal to be truly apologetic was as much a factor as anything

| Re: Are You Ready For Some Football? Hank Williams Jr. Isn't... I would be truly disappointed in HW if he.......crawfished on his original comments. IF you are going to have an opinion...HAVE IT! Let the media be damned. We have enough spineless trash who thought they had an opinion until the going got tough. I probably do not agree with all his thoughts but I do believe in standing by things you believe in.

| Re: Are You Ready For Some Football? Hank Williams Jr. Isn't... Fine line between spineless and smart I suppose. Like Cris Carter for example. He blanket on CJ when talking about top receivers and instead of just saying "shoot I forgot all about him" he started making up all this stuff to "justify" his omission.
