Love this rant from him.
I loved his rants to. He said all the things that needed to be said but in the back of my head I kept hearing "Pittsburgh Alum" "Pittsburgh Alum"

Slight conflict of interest

Same goes for Kirk Herbstreet, everything he's said about the situation has been dead on but with him to I keep on hearing the voice in the back of my head saying "Ohio State Alum" "Ohio State Alum."

Wait, whats that voice? Oh no we can't do that, theres no way we'd ever get away with it. Hey guys I have to go.

Re: Sex Abuse Scandal Rocks Penn State

It's looking more and more likely that Paterno could end up in jail....it certainly doesn't sound good for him.

It is sounding more and more like not only did he know of the sex crimes, he attempted to cover them up by helping put a retirement package together for Jerry Sandusky back when he stepped down....

Very very scary to the extent of just how big this cover up is. My next door neighbor graduated from Penn State in the 1980's. Talking to him he is very educated, the university is in grave danger. Their Football Program is going to be toast very soon and absolute worst case scenario the university itself implodes. The U.S. Department of Education is involved now, they are going to lose federal funding, grants, all that crap. Accredidation may be taken away, it will be a very, very long time before Penn State gets back to that "big school" status.

The cover up could have involved many, many more people than what we are being told. More people are expected to either resign or be fired in the coming days.

I have a feeling i'm seeing the scandal of my lifetime here, maybe the biggest sex scandal in American History, especially now in the light of news that Sandusky and The Second Mile foundation was pimping out those kids for money..... Un real...

If Chris Brown gets community service and Stallworth gets probation then I seriously doubt that Joe Pa goes to jail. They don't just send 85 year old men with no criminal record to jail, never mind 85 year old men that can afford very expensive attorneys. He's more likely to look at a huge civil suit for negligence and if he does get convicted criminally it will be probation.

After he's drained by the 950 Civil suits pending, it may make prison look attractive......

Here is something to think about. You ever think that Penn State pulls all images or names of Joe Paterno from the campus if its shown he really was involved heavily in the coverup?

Neither one of those involved multiple child molestations either. Even child molestation is regarded as a heinous crime amongs murders, rapists, and theives. Also, examples will be made for any and everybody that decides to look the other way when a crime of this nature happens. Not to mention, the nation is watching.

That's the thing. I read somewhere that Sandusky got a retirement package of that a professor would receive so who arranged that package, and why was it arranged after the '98 sexual allegations event? No doubt Joe Paterno was involved in this as well. There is a reason he's calling a defense lawyer, and it's not to schedule a round of golf now that he's unemployed.

McQueary's future at Penn State unclear after private trustee meeting

Acting university president Rod Erickson this evening told reporters to "stay tuned" when asked why Mr. McQueary, who reportedly witnessed the rape of a child by a former football coach, was still employed.

My point is not to insult the people that went to Penn State, but yes, obviously I am against students that riot in support of a coach who knowingly did nothing about his rapist friend. But don't make me out to just be running around spewing blind hatred when that's not the case at all.

I mean really, my entire point of this horrible scandal is that everybody involved who stood by and did nothing, and thus enabled, needs to be punished. That doesn't include the football team, or the student body. If you'd read my earlier post in the thread you would know I don't even support NCAA sanctions against the football team, because the football team shouldn't be punished for the actions of a rapist former coach. Am I pissed off about this? Yeah. Just like everybody else. We can sit here and make excuses for Joe Paterno all we want, but at the end of the day he enabled Jerry Sandusky, just like a lot of higher ups at the school. And he deserves to be punished for it. Bottom line, end of story. And if the rumors are true that Penn State donors allegedly participated in his little pimping ring, every single one of them needs to be arrested and punished too.
Sorry man, I've been a little testy today. No problems.

My point being that if someone like Chris Brown who actually commits a heinous crime doesn't get jail time what makes you think that an indirect accessory like Joe Pa would get jail time. Civil Suits totaling millions of dollars are going to be his main problem and this is a guy that had $4 million lying around to build a library.

On a side note I just realized that in high school I wore the Penn State logo on my helmet. Funny to think what that logo represents now.

Just to give you an idea of how much Joe Pa could be in for

Paterno's salary released to public

Associated Press
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. -- Penn State coach Joe Paterno is a millionaire.

Records released Friday by the university show the 82-year-old Hall of Famer is Penn State's highest-paid employee, making more than $1.03 million last year.

That includes his base salary plus any bonuses, but does not include compensation from outside the university that top coaches typically collect. Paterno's compensation from other sources is not a public record.

The records were released in compliance with a Pennsylvania Right-to-Know law that took effect in January.

Paterno's salary was once one of college football's most closely-guarded secrets until his base salary of roughly $500,000 was made public two years ago as part of an open records request of state retirement data initiated by the Patriot News of Harrisburg.

Only 1 million??...lol Hell the coach here at ECU makes that. That school profits (yes..profits) 50 million a year on Penn State football.

Ive heard rumors already of taking his statue down, maybe as a symbolic gesture. I think as everyone digest the severity of what happend and joes role in it students/alumni/school will have a strong desire to separate themselves from his likeness

Thats the base salary. He makes more with bonuses and 'donations' from boosters.
