So when taxes go up on business the companies don't pass that on to the public?wow....how nice of them.

If anything we'd see more of a swing. Repubs and democrats don't really have a reason to go to California. It's not like they hit a lot of stops in South Dakota. Wouldn't it be better if more of the resources happen for most of the people? I'll drop it now, just seems silly to me that we don't do the popular vote.

ObamaPhone!!!! First Green Energy payoffs to Obama bundlers and donors, now the ObamaPhone scam. Maybe the SEIU should'nt have been paying idiots who unwittingly aired more Obama dirty laundry...

You realize that this really gained traction under Bush, right? The idea has been around since the Reagan era. They have to make less than $15,000 a year to be eligible and they get a whopping HOUR worth of minutes a month. That's not a situation to be envious of -- add in the fact that these are funded by a non-profit entity under the FCC and does not use tax money at all.

I am glad you think what he was asking for is smart because I do too.

The program, overseen by the FCC and intended to help low-income Americans, is popular for obvious reasons, with participation rising steeply since 2008, when the government paid $772 million for phones and monthly bills. But observers complain that the program suffers from poor oversight, in which phones go to people who don’t qualify, and hundreds of thousands of those who do qualify have more than one phone.

See, this is when my liberalism stops. If you don't have a job, you don't need a fukcing cell phone. Full stop.

20 minutes into the VP debate and...

I don't think Ryan is slam dunking this like people expected. Seems pretty balanced so far, maybe Biden with an edge.
