Huge Trade question

I am in a basic scoring system league. (1pt. for 10 yards rec., 6 for td, also for rushing, and -2 for turnovers)

Here is my team

B. Favre
M. Harrison
P. Burress
J. Addai
E. James
E. Johnson
D. Akers
E. Johnson

Subs:
J. Lewis
A. Green
C. Portis
W. Welker
M. Schaub

He has offered:
T. Holt
R. Bush

He wants:
P. Burress
C. Portis
E. James

I am 0-2 and looking to make a splash. do I pull the trigger and pair up M. Harrison and T. Holt, and hope Jamal Lewis keeps up his perforamance?

Re: Huge Trade question

I'm going to assume that no scoring changes have been made in your league and that it is just regular scoring. Unless receivers generally get more points than running backs, DO NOT MAKE THE TRADE. Here is why:

1.Reggie Bush has done almost nothing and the Saints aren't getting better. If anything Duece McCallister will be getting more runs.

2. The Rams aren't as good of an offensive team as everyone thinks they are and will be. That could turn around though but Marc Bulger has an offensive line that his hurting and he won't have a lot of time in the pocket to get that throw to Torry Holt.

3. Plaxico Burress will have another good season regardless of who is quarterback. He is a huge target you can't miss him.

4. Clinton Portis will do better than Reggie Bush.

5. So will Edge.

6. Usually when people offer you the trade the deal is tipped a little bit their way, that's why the offered the trade.

Re: Huge Trade question

Absolutely DO NOT do this trade ...

in standard scoring systems (ie: non-PPR) Edge is THE #1 RB right now.
Plax, a top 5 WR right now and CP provides you with a great #3 RB to cover for byes and possible injuries.
As the previous poster has said Bush has done nothing, in fact both the players he has offerred you are playing in offences that are stuggling right now.

You have a very good starting lineup and must have been very unlucky to be 0-2 (did you run into the big weeks from Moss, Palmer, Chad, etc as your team looks like it should handle itself most weeks very well).

You look a little thin at WR (only Welker) and not great at TE, but are loaded at RB - I would try to move Lewis while he is hot or Ahman Green while the Texans are hot and try to upgrade at TE/add depth at WR.

Re: Huge Trade question

What if I kept Portis and threw in M. Schaub?

Re: Huge Trade question

NO NO NO NO NO NO you holt tight.. buress is a serious TD threat.. portis is going to have a better year than bush, and edge is tearing it up now that they have a decent line in AZ...

with the saints tanking and bush splitting carries (he wont get goal line carries mind you) he is not very valuble...

looking at your lineup you mustve had some tough games to be losing.. burress has done prety well so far, favre had a great game with 3 tds last week, youve got a decent team.. just ride it out, or counter for a better back than bush, and ask him to throw in another player...

Re: Huge Trade question

No way. bush has proved nothing, and the rams o-line is depleted. why not package some of your stud backs and get gates or an upgrade at QB?

Re: Huge Trade question

Jake Delhomme no doubt in my mind. The guy can't miss with Steve Smith sprinting down the field, that man will catch anything, anywhere.

Re: Huge Trade question

Man you're teams pretty damn good. The only thing I'd like to suggest is using one of you're running backs as trade bait to get a good tight end.

You're at the point where you might look back and see that you ended up with four or five of the best running backs in fantasy football. You can't use them all so trade to the guy at the bottom of the standings who reached for a tight end.

Go with Vince Young.

If he doesn't torch the Saints secondary, he's pretty useless.
