Search the CTC NFL tickets marketplace for Redskins tickets, cheap Jets tickets, Packers tickets, sold out Steelers tickets, Chiefs tickets and premium Giants tickets. We also carry Nationals tickets, Washington Capitals tickets and Washington Wizards tickets.

Re: ESPN vs NFL Network Draft Coverage

Ive had enough draft coverage from espn already and the draft hasn't even started yet... an hr and a half special mock draft, give me a break. Id rather see some coverage on the nba playoffs, nascar, baseball, ect. Sorry if that offends you die hard football fans, but I'm a sports fan, not just a football fan.

Re: ESPN vs NFL Network Draft Coverage

I like watching NFLN for the draft, just because I don't like ESPN's analysts, although I don't like Mike Mayock either, he always sounds like he thinks his opinion is always the best lol. The good thing about having two versions of the draft though is that when one hits commercial I can just switch back to the other.

Re: ESPN vs NFL Network Draft Coverage

Whoa, when did this thread come back?

Anyway I'm going to have NFL Network streaming this time around since I'll be home for the weekend and our Comcast package doesn't include NFL Network. Honestly though, ESPN's Todd McShay vs Mel Kiper dynamic is getting pretty annoying, they always seem to be ragging on each other in the same manner that Clayton and Salsbury use to.

Plus NFL Network is probably going to have Casserly and Mayock covering the draft this week which is great because Charlie does a good job in my opinion of providing information, weather it be on the mindset of a GM/Scout or analysis of a particular player, even though he seems to constantly butcher names. I mean hell, the other day Casserly listed the Cowboys Wide Outs as TO, Crayton, and Joey Galloway. However other then slip ups like that, he's been pretty good.

I also like Mayock better then Kiper, and how can you not like Rich Eisen?

So lets look at the match ups:

Color Commentator: (5 Points)
Berman vs Eisen
Advantage: Eisen

Main Draft Scout: (5 Points)
Kiper vs Mayock
Advantage: Mayock

Second Opinion Draft Analyst: (4 Points)
McShay vs Some guy from Boston College
Advantage: McShay

In House GM's: (5 Points)
Floyd Reese vs Charlie Casserly
Advantage: Reese

NFL Players: (3 Points)
K. Johnson/E. Smith vs Faulk/Woodson
Advantage: Faulk/Woodson

In Studio NFL Players (2 Points)
Schlereth/Jackson vs Sanders/Dukes/Dilfer
Advantage: Schclereth/Jackson

Former Coach: (3 Points)
Ditka vs Mooch/Billick
Advantage: Ditka

Annoying Drama and Negativity Among Commentators: (-4 Points)
Disadvantage: ESPN

Insiders (7 Points)
Palantonio/Mort vs Schefter
Advantage: Schefter

Unintentional Comedy: (1 Point)
Advantage: Emmitt

Graphics (Best Available/Past Picks/ Upcoming Picks) (4 Points)
Advantage: ESPN

In Studio Analyst: (2 Points)
Hodge/Wingo/Jaws vs Charles/Burmeister/Baldinger
Advantage: NFL Network (Jaws isn't enough to pick up the slack created by Hodge and Wingo)

Sexy Anchors: (2 Points)
Kobler/Nichols vs Random Blonde Chicks
Advantage: ESPN

Draft Weekend Coverage
Advantage: NFL Network 20 Points to 19 Points for ESPN

I prefer NFL Netowrk but I'll be switching back and forth. I'm probably one of the few that really really misses Irvin.

Colts GM after Kiper critiqued their picks in the early 90's or late 80's

There's one pretty big difference between Clayton/Salisbury and Kiper/McShay

Mayock is very good. I don't really remember his playing days though (Packers)

So lets look at the match ups:

Yeah I'll agree there, but they're definately moving in that direction. Just you wait, one day McShay is going to go after Kipers hair and Kiper will ask McShay "how long till you graduate from high school" (age joke)

Technically that wouldn't really matter, but these are the two guys you'll be seeing the most on draft day.

Theres no push in Network vs ESPN, this is a fight to the death.

Yes I did, but Clayton still isn't enough to swing the vote towards ESPN.

I didn't write that part in the middle. Don't make me use my 6 reputation point power.

THATS HER NAME! Yeah, I guess but ESPN still wins.

Fine I'll just go to ES. At least they have new threads almost.....daily....no minutely.

Bill Tobin made the quote. Player drafted was Trev Alberts

What'd I win?
