| Who do you think had the best draft? Im gonna divide this thread into two categories, best picks (best players gotten in this draft), and best draft (best overall draft including trades and such). I think that cleveland had the best picks getting 3 top 15 talents in Joe Thomas, Brady Quinn, and Eric Wright with the 3, 22, and 53 picks. Atlanta also got good players who all could have gone in the first round in Jamaal Anderson, Chris Houston, and Justin Blaylock. I think that NE had the best draft securing a high 1st (maybe, SF might be good next year) next year, a high 3rd round next year (the raiders will def suck), a high 4th rounder (which was traded for Moss), and a 7th rounder (which the Pats might get a good player because they draft better than anyone). Basically, their draft next year will be bombing as opposed to the weak draft class of this year where they couldnt get that great players, and they also got a great safety to one day replace Harrison in Merriweather. My only concern with the Pats draft was they got 2 character issue guys in Moss ands Merriweather, although very talented, these guys have issues and might mess up team chemistry. Dallas also had a good draft while essentially trading a 3rd and a 5th for a 1st next year. |

| Re: Who do you think had the best draft? Cleveland and San Fran imo. And I hate to say this, but the Cleveland-Dallas trade could turn out to be excellent for both teams, Cleveland might have the qb of their future, and Dallas probably secured a top ten pick for next year in addition to the one they already have. |

I like the Milner pick, but Crumpler is already a very solid blocker. Datish might be a steal, but the rest of these picks seem like golddigging. This isn't a great draft.

| Re: Who do you think had the best draft? I forgot to add that Arizona had a great draft. Levi Brown, who I think they valued over Joe Thomas, Alan Branch, who was initially predicted to be a top 10 lock, and Buster Davis who is a hard hitting solid linebacker. |

| Re: Who do you think had the best draft? Best drafts: Cleveland-Quinn and Thomas were the top two guys on my board. IMO, this could be the greatest first round duo in history. Time will tell if they would have been in position next year to land Henne or Brohm in the first round, but the year of NFL experience that Quinn will have over them between will make a big difference between now and 2010. Houston-Amobi Okoye at #10 is highway robbery. I think some of the value that is Matt Schaub has to be considered in this draft for them. Arizona-They only had 5 picks, but they got Levi Brown, Alan Branch, and Ben Patrick in that haul. Buster Davis and Breaston aren't slouches either. Jacksonville-Slid down and still landed Reggie Nelson in round one. Derek Landri was a huge steal on day 2 and by this time next year will be capable of replacing either Stroud or Henderson on a temporary basis and provide instant pass rush. Kansas City-Landed a guy who has just as much potential as Calvin Johnson in Dwayne Bowe. Appear serious about improving the defense by grabbing two day 1 DL (Turk McBride, Tank Tyler). Philadelphia-Kolb and Abiamiri will both be great NFL players. Kolb projects to the NFL even better than McNabb did--he will still have to wait his turn though.

We nailed down the best two defensive prospects perfectly in Okoye and Landry. IMO, we just chose the wrong one for our team.

| Re: Who do you think had the best draft? Sf / Cleveland / Atlanta / Denver / Oakland . I do not like the Falcons , but I wouldn't be suprised if Anderson is a hell of a player . Denver may have a major improvement rushing the passer , Oakland may have two major steals in Moses and Bush . At this point , all of these drafts are ranked on paper ,,,,,, we shall see . |

There were questions about his accuracy, but you would think the fact that he was groomed by Charlie Weiss might have given him more of an edge than he actually got. | |

ok thats stupid the eagles draft sucked took a qb in the second round who wasnt even the 3rd best one there and what about carolina got jon beason in the first round after trading down and picking up dwayne jarrett at 45 when most people at one point had him going at pick 7-15 and getting the best center at pick 59 where everyone says that he will be a monster and multiple probowl player and then to get charles johnson as mike rucker replacement and getting him late in the 3rd round they got maximum value for every pick the panthers made a killing in the draft hands down best draft this year addressed every need except safety and that wasnt a pressing need anyways

| Re: Who do you think had the best draft? Buster's draft analysis Good drafts: *Cleveland. They made a genius move (helped by Miami's stupidity) by managing to get a top OL and Brady Quinn both in the first round. They got a lot of secondary depth too. *The Raiders had a very good draft too, QB, RB, TE, WR...not enough OL though, so we'll have to see if all that firepower on offense can overcome a horrible line. My guess is no, but they did get a LOT of talent. *The Cards did well with only a few picks. Levi Brown, Alan Branch and Buster Davis are all big picks. *Titans with Griffin and RB Chris Henry have 2 solid starters with their first 2 picks. Funny picks: *The Lions chose Manny Ramirez in Round 4. *The Bills have a guy who's jersey will say "Ah You" on the back. C.J. Ah You . Dumb moves: *Miami picking Ginn, Jr. He's NOT worth a #9 pick and although they need a new KR since losing Wes Welker...this was NOT the place to do it. They're also assuming Trent Green will be able to last a full season IF they can get him. I guess they're confident in Cleo Lemon. *New Orleans picking Robert Meachem in Round 1. Meachem is good but NO is stacked with young talent at WR. They lost Horn, but he barely played last year anyways. I guess they have no other needs. *Falcons passing on a good QB. They'll need a backup and MAYBE replacement for Vick if he gets in more legal trouble. They lost a capable backup/replacement and their only other QB on the roster is D.J. Shockley. They did get a good pick with Jamaal Anderson (ha, another Jamaal Anderson...). AND, the Skins: Landry is a GREAT pick and will make it pretty scary for WRs and TEs to play against us with him and Taylor back there ready to decapitate people. LB depth is no longer a problem. We have a great backup QB for the future since Brunell will retire soon and Todd Collins doesn't belong on an NFL roster. A backup TE was a nice bonus. We didn't address DL, but by the 4th Round, there weren't many good options left, so we filled other needs with some good valued-picks. I think we did very well with the picks we had for once. |
