| Re: Limas Sweed Wr Texas y do we need to see what Mix can do? What has he shown besides being a good special teams tackler that he is worthy of a shot to play extended time

| Re: Limas Sweed Wr Texas I posted in the Rock thread about the possibility of drafting Deshaun Jackson of Cal w/our first pick. While I don't think WR is overall our highest priority, Jackson fills an immediate need; punt & kickoff returns, while bringing burner ability (4.3) at wr. I don't see ARE returning punts unless there's no better alternative & Rock might leave/they'll let him go. |

What the combine often reveals more than any other attributes are speed & strength. Colleges frequently say they have a guy that runs 4.3-4.4. This is because a lot of them are either running hand timed by their coaches or whatever timing method they're using isn't as precise as the nfl combine. Hand timing ususally takes off about 2/10 of a second in a 40. Colleges also have reason to promote their athletes as it gives them chances for publicity & national attention. If Jackson only runs 4.5 but has great moves & lateral quickness he could still be a good return man in the nfl & he might be available at 21 in that case. I am also wary of another Desmond Howard experience, cause when we drafted him I was so excited to see him become part of the posse. A few years later we were 3-13 & he was a very avg. nfl reciever that never did too much as a returner here either. | |

| Re: Limas Sweed Wr Texas Im telling you this team should take a serious look at darius reynaud. He will be an absolute steal in the later rounds. Hes not the biggest receiver in the world but he is an outstanding blocker and an unbelievable threat whenever he gets the ball in his hands. The general rumor around WVU is that he is the best pure athlete the team had, over such names like pat white, steve slaton and noel devine. Unless he has an absolute killer showing in the combine he could easily slip into the later rounds. watch some highlights: YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

| Re: Limas Sweed Wr Texas reynaud's good. the problem is our WR depth is fine, it's that #1 type of guy that you need, and i'm not sure he's an nfl #1. he could easily replace mccardell/lloyd/thrash though.
