| Using a high pick on QB. I heard that during the combine Cerrato interviewed QB Joe Flacco and some other DEs and DTs. It hasn't been talked about much on Warpath but what do you think the feasibility is of drafting a young QB early this year to develop under our QB groomer, Zorn, and having a failsafe if Campbell can't make the throws that are necessary in the West Coast Offense? I'm not totally against it and understand the concern if that is done this year. Just for the measure, I am a Campbell fan.

| Re: Using a high pick on QB. I was thinking along the lines of our 5th round pick in that neighbor hood if they decide to use this draft to address QB needs. But this could change if the best player available happens to be a QB in an earlier round, IMO.

| Re: Using a high pick on QB. I' all for it because I do not believe that Campbell is the right fit for our offense but I could be wrong. I think Campbell is very talented just not for what are about to do on offense. |

| Re: Using a high pick on QB. Good question. I think the possibility has been discussed about a late round draft pick, but a 2nd or 3rd round pick on a Qb? I wouldn't be against it. Sometimes you want to take the best overall player and it might be a qb. While i don't think we'll use a 2nd, you never know. |

| Re: Using a high pick on QB. Check the tape of the Skins-Lions game last year. We ran a quick hitting style of passing game that to me could have passed for a WCO scheme and JC had the best game of his career. I don't know why some people are so convinced that he can't run this offense before even seeing him on the field. Give him a chance. |

| Re: Using a high pick on QB. If the right guy were there in the 3rd round it would be worth it, but I can't see going any higher than that. remember mcnabb's reaction when philly used a 2nd rounder last year on a qb? It wouldn't be good for JC. Arguably you could say the same about a 3rd round pick, since it's still a high percentage pick, but I think if the guy that's there is better value than anyone else on the board, you have to consider it. I figure it will come down to how many picks we have. If we get the comp. picks there's a chance to draft a qb earlier in the 2nd day. If we can get someone to trade down with & acquire picks, I could definitely see Vinny using a 3rd or 4th (if we got one). |

| Re: Using a high pick on QB. VC has identified QB as a possibility, just where in the draft one will be selected is yet to be determined. We still have Sam Hollenbach on the roster, and Z-man might want to see where he fits in, if at all. He has not had much of an opportunity here mainly because of the competition ahead of him. A developmental QB will in all probability be selected somewhere between 4 & 7. |

You must remember that the hiring of Jim Zorn as OC was with JC in mind. I don't think he would have been so willing to take on the challenge of working with Campbell if he didn't feel he was capable of doing what he want's to get done. The safe approach here is to let the situation play it'self out before we begin to make any type of predictions as to success or failure.

We're all going to kick back and watch the fireworks when September comes around but do you think our QB situation warrants a selection of a QB early?
